Senior Product Manager, Digital Products

Guardant Health•Palo Alto, CA

About The Position

Guardant Health is seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead the roadmap and execution of its customer-facing digital products, encompassing both physician- and patient-facing digital experiences. This is a strategy-through-execution role where you will set direction, sequence the roadmap, and drive delivery with Engineering, Design, Marketing, and Commercial teams. The focus is on adoption and measured outcomes, not just features shipped. The ideal candidate brings a consumer product mindset to healthcare, is a systems thinker with a multi-year platform view, and has a keen eye for user-facing experiences with a track record of shipping consumer-grade web and mobile products that have driven business results like adoption, conversion, retention, and growth.

Requirements

  • Typically bachelor’s with ~12+ years (or 8+ with master’s / 5+ with PhD / 3+ with PharmD/MD).
  • 5+ years in product management with 3+ years owning external, user-facing web or mobile products end to end.
  • Track record of launching and scaling user-facing products with quantified outcomes in adoption, conversion, or retention, and the specifics of what you did to move them.
  • Demonstrated product-led growth experience: acquisition and activation funnels, onboarding, self-service, and lifecycle messaging.
  • Strong working knowledge of modern front-end and mobile technology - JavaScript frameworks, design systems, responsive design, API patterns, performance, accessibility- sufficient to hold a real trade-off conversation with senior engineers.
  • Hands-on fluency in product analytics and experimentation (Pendo, Amplitude, or similar); comfortable writing queries to interrogate data.
  • Works AI-natively: uses modern AI tooling to prototype flows, pressure-test concepts, and synthesize research, and moves faster because of it rather than waiting on design and engineering cycles.
  • Experience owning a product surface with non-deterministic output - setting acceptance criteria and evaluation for quality, and designing for the cases where the system is wrong.
  • Excellent written communication and a proven ability to ship inside shared engineering capacity, legacy systems, and competing stakeholder priorities.
  • Background screening including criminal history is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in healthcare, digital health, or another regulated environment (HIPAA/PHI, FDA, CLIA/CAP, SOC 2).
  • Familiarity with clinician workflow and EMR/EHR integration (HL7 v2, FHIR, SMART on FHIR, Epic).
  • Experience with clinical decision support or other high-stakes recommendation experiences.
  • Demonstrate curiosity, sound judgment, and the ability to critically evaluate and responsibly leverage AI-enabled tools in accordance with company policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements to improve the efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of work.

Responsibilities

  • Build and own the roadmap to deliver the product strategy for digital experiences, translating long-term vision into prioritized quarterly outcomes with explicit success metrics.
  • Contribute customer insight and market evidence that sharpens the product strategy over time.
  • Lead end-to-end product execution, from requirements and acceptance criteria through scope trade-offs, launch readiness, staged rollout, and post-launch optimization, ensuring delivery against customer, business, and quality objectives.
  • Identify and prioritize opportunities to simplify core workflows—including ordering, task management, results comprehension, and scheduling—using customer insights and data to reduce friction and improve completion, comprehension, and satisfaction.
  • Develop and optimize product growth loops across entry points, activation, self-service, and notification-driven re-engagement, establishing hypotheses and measurable targets for adoption, conversion, and retention.
  • Define and champion the quality bar for AI-enabled experiences, defining evaluation criteria, safeguards, transparency standards, and launch thresholds appropriate for physician- and patient-facing use cases.
  • Define and instrument the product metric tree before launch; use funnel, cohort, experimentation, and qualitative insights to guide decisions, evaluate impact, and maintain rigor in interpreting results.
  • Partner deeply with Design and Engineering to shape information architecture, user flows, prototypes, and technical trade-offs; provide substantive product critique and embed accessibility, performance, and scalability into product requirements.
  • Influence portfolio-level investment and prioritization decisions, using customer and business evidence to recommend where Guardant should invest, accelerate, or deprioritize.
  • Use AI-enabled tools to rapidly prototype, test, and refine product concepts, accelerating learning and improving the quality of decisions before committing design and engineering capacity.
  • Influence and align partners across Medical Affairs, Compliance, Quality, Lab Operations, Commercial, Design, and Engineering, proactively incorporating regulatory, design-control, governance, and operational requirements into product plans.

Benefits

  • Guardant has defined days for in-person/onsite collaboration and work-from-home days for individual-focused time.
  • Flexibility for better work-life balance while keeping teams connected to advance our science for our patients.
