[Wattpad] Senior Product Manager, Data Platform & Intelligence
About The Position
Wattpad is seeking an experienced Senior Product Manager to lead the strategy and roadmap for its data platform and product intelligence capabilities. This role is focused on building the platform that enables products to make smarter decisions, rather than a traditional analytics or reporting function. The Senior Product Manager will collaborate with Data Engineering, Data Science, Analytics, and other Product Managers to transform raw product events into reusable data products, trusted metrics, decision-ready insights, and an intelligent platform service that powers experiences across Wattpad. The work will influence how products understand readers, measure success, personalize experiences, run experiments, and make real-time decisions, forming a foundational investment for the next generation of Wattpad.
Requirements
- 7+ years of Product Management experience, with experience owning platform, infrastructure, developer, AI, or data products.
- Strong understanding of modern data architectures including event pipelines, data products, warehouses, semantic layers, metrics stores, feature stores, and APIs.
- Experience working closely with Data Engineering, Analytics, and Software Engineering teams.
- Experience defining product strategy across multiple stakeholders with competing priorities.
- Strong systems thinking with the ability to identify reusable platform capabilities instead of one-off solutions.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence technical and executive audiences.
- Comfortable making decisions in ambiguous environments while balancing long term platform investments with near term business value.
- Experience with modern product analytics and experimentation platforms such as Amplitude, Mixpanel, or similar tools for product measurement, behavioral analytics, and experimentation.
Responsibilities
- Define the vision and roadmap for Wattpad's data platform.
- Own the long-term strategy for systems that transform raw product events into reusable, trusted capabilities powering Wattpad products.
- Develop and prioritize the roadmap across areas including: reusable data products, insights layer, decisioning platform, and data governance and discoverability.
- Define the strategy and roadmap for Wattpad's Product Intelligence Platform to enable smarter, faster, and more consistent product decisions.
- Build platform capabilities that transform raw data into trusted, reusable intelligence for company-wide use.
- Work with Content teams to deepen content intelligence by transforming story metadata, taxonomy, and behavioral signals into reusable capabilities.
- Partner with Engineering, Analytics, and Data Science to create scalable foundations for personalization, recommendations, and product decisioning.
- Establish trusted metrics, shared data definitions, and governance practices to improve consistency and confidence in product development.
- Turn recurring product needs into reusable platform capabilities to reduce duplication and accelerate delivery.
- Balance long-term platform investments with near-term business priorities, making thoughtful tradeoffs to maximize impact.
- Influence product and technical strategy across the organization to shape the future of Wattpad's data and intelligence capabilities.
