About The Position

M3 is seeking a Senior Product Manager for Data & AI to lead the product strategy and roadmap for its next-generation data platform. This role is crucial for M3's evolution from an accounting platform to a data and AI powerhouse, transforming hotel forecasting, decision-making, and operations. The ideal candidate will have deep industry experience and a vision for a hotel data platform. The position involves defining what it means for M3 to provide operational intelligence beyond financial reporting, surfacing insights at the right moment for all levels of hotel organization. The role leverages M3's existing data assets from accounting, labor, PMS, and benchmarking to drive innovation in data unification, AI-driven forecasting, embedded analytics, and intelligent automation, with a focus on the practical needs of hotel professionals.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of product management experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience focused on data, analytics, BI, or AI products.
  • Understanding of hotel operations, including daily reporting cycles, USALI chart of accounts, budget season rhythm, GM information needs, and the significance of labor variances.
  • Proven ability to translate ambiguous, complex problems into prioritized, executable roadmaps.
  • Strong user story and specification writing skills.
  • Experience shipping analytics or intelligence products in a SaaS environment.
  • Comfortable discussing data modeling, API design, data pipelines, and embedded analytics architectures.
  • Familiarity with BI and analytics technologies (e.g., Looker, Tableau, custom dashboard frameworks, or embedded analytics SDKs).
  • Experience with or strong curiosity about applied AI/ML in a business context, including LLMs, forecasting models, and AI-assisted workflows.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to operate with senior stakeholders and balance bold vision with pragmatic execution.

Nice To Haves

  • Direct experience with hotel technology platforms (PMS like Opera, Maestro, Cloudbeds, etc.).
  • Experience with STR data, payroll systems, or hospitality-specific accounting software.
  • Experience with embedded analytics or white-label data platform products.
  • Background in hospitality management consulting, hotel asset management, or revenue management technology.
  • Exposure to USALI reporting standards and hotel-specific financial statement structures.

Responsibilities

  • Define and own the multi-year product roadmap for M3's data and AI suite, including embedded dashboards, KPI frameworks, AI-assisted forecasting, and anomaly detection.
  • Benchmark against best-in-class competitors in hospitality analytics and build a compelling narrative positioning M3's data capabilities as a strategic platform.
  • Conduct deep discovery with hotel management companies, ownership groups, GMs, directors of finance, and revenue managers to identify unmet needs.
  • Translate industry knowledge (USALI fluency, STR benchmarking, operational context) into actionable product requirements.
  • Identify opportunities where M3's unique data assets can create defensible competitive advantages.
  • Write clear, developer-ready specifications and user stories.
  • Define and monitor key success metrics, including adoption, time-to-insight, and portfolio performance outcomes.
  • Manage a product backlog balancing strategic initiatives with daily customer needs.
  • Partner with sales, customer success, and marketing to drive go-to-market strategies for new data products.
  • Collaborate with M3's integration partners to expand the platform's data surface area with new sources.
  • Work with the CPO on investment cases, partner strategy, and data product monetization.
  • Define practical, high-value applications of AI for hotel finance and operations, such as intelligent variance explanations, natural language querying, AI-generated commentary reports, and predictive labor scheduling.
  • Evaluate build vs. partner vs. acquire options for AI capabilities.
  • Stay current with LLM application patterns, embedded analytics technology, and data platform architecture, with a focus on hospitality applicability.
