About The Position

As a Senior Product Manager on Marqeta's Credit team, you will own the end-to-end evolution of our credit platform—shaping the core services that power how clients launch and manage credit products at scale. You will partner closely with engineering, GTM, design, legal, and compliance to bring technically rigorous, market-ready features to life. At this level, you are a domain authority who drives platform strategy with precision, translates complex regulatory and architectural realities into clear product decisions, and earns trust from engineers and executives alike. We work Flexible First. This role can be performed remotely only in one of our Premium or National locations, which you can review here.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of product management experience focused on credit cards or lending, with a track record of owning complex platforms or backend product areas end-to-end.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience working with backend systems and APIs—able to engage fluently with engineering on system architecture, data models, and distributed services.
  • Deep technical acumen across APIs, distributed systems, and modern production environments, with the ability to evaluate architectural trade-offs and contribute meaningfully to technical discussions.
  • Exceptional communication skills—able to distill complex technical and regulatory topics into clear, actionable narratives for audiences ranging from backend engineers to external enterprise clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate at all levels of the organization.
  • Working knowledge of regulatory and compliance considerations relevant to credit products, with comfort navigating legal and risk reviews as a core part of product delivery

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with payment network rules, card scheme regulations, or broader payment technology best practices as they relate to credit product design and platform architecture.
