About The Position

Babylist is seeking Senior Product Managers to build the next generation of their platform, incorporating AI into product development as an expectation. This role is for individuals who are both skilled product managers and active AI-enabled builders. The Senior PM will own a complex set of features or a customer journey within Babylist's consumer surfaces. Responsibilities include defining product vision, understanding customers and the business, framing problems, sequencing bets, and owning outcomes. Additionally, the role involves standing up working prototypes, querying data and code directly, and contributing to code execution when most valuable. The company values speed in decision-making, execution, and time to impact. This is a dual role requiring the individual to be an exceptional Senior PM and to model AI-native product development practices, setting standards for the team. The Senior PM will be flexible to work on any of Babylist's products, adapting quickly to new areas based on organizational needs and their strengths. The role reports to a Product Director or Sr. Director leader and collaborates closely with Engineering, Design, Data, and other stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated consumer experience with a proven record of defining product strategy for complex areas.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams in execution.
  • Experience working with senior leaders to solve complex problems for consumer products.
  • Likely held Product Management roles at the Senior or Staff level.
  • Customer obsession: ability to understand and co-create with users, bringing qualitative and quantitative evidence into decisions.
  • Ability to solve root pain, not adjacent symptoms, and create segmentation clarity.
  • Product sense: instinct for what's worth building, the right UX, and what will delight users, with shipped work and killed projects as proof.
  • Sharp problem framing: ability to walk into rooms with recommendations, reduce ambiguity, and tighten scope to make engineering and design faster.
  • Outcome ownership: accountability for delivering meaningful results, building appropriate measures of success, and leading evidence-based persist/pivot/stop decisions.
  • Strong opinions, loosely held: ability to move decisively with incomplete information, distinguishing reversible from irreversible decisions, and updating priors quickly when wrong.
  • Commercial fluency: understanding of how Babylist makes money and the relevant levers within their product.
  • Technical fluency: demonstrated ability to understand feasibility, tradeoffs, and getting real products into the world, potentially through a CS degree, prior developer experience, or a portfolio of built projects.
  • Force multiplier: ability to act as connective tissue, not a bottleneck, through sharp problem statements, tight scoping, and crisp communication.
  • Adaptability to change: selecting for change, jumping in where needed, working across team boundaries without waiting for permission, with humility, low-ego, and bias toward action.
  • Curiosity towards ambiguity, not anxiety.

Nice To Haves

  • Actively use LLMs and AI coding tools in daily work.
  • Intuition for what current AI models are good and bad at, and using that for product decisions.
  • Ability to decompose problems for AI agents, review and refine their output, and combine AI-driven speed with human judgment.
  • Excited about the AI transformation and want to help shape what an AI-first product organization looks like.

Responsibilities

  • Own a customer journey or a complex feature set end-to-end, covering discovery, definition, delivery, measurement, and iteration.
  • Set and maintain the quality bar, making difficult tradeoffs between business goals and customer experience with clear communication.
  • Ship work quickly when it's right, and send it back when it isn't, iterating early and often to achieve long-term outcomes.
  • Utilize AI-native workflows in personal work, including discovery, analysis, prototyping, instrumentation, communications, and code contributions.
  • Multiply team effectiveness by partnering with Engineers, Designers, and Analysts as peer-builders, bringing sharper problem framing, customer insights, and prototypes/code to facilitate decision-making.
  • Design repeatable, low-friction systems that enable the entire team to ship faster.
  • Be a flexible operator, ramping up quickly, partnering effectively, and getting work to customers rapidly.
  • Contribute to building the AI-native PM function at Babylist by sharing successes, teaching learnings, and setting standards for others.
