Senior Product Manager, Agentic AI & Healthcare

Streamline Healthcare Solutions
2d$130,000 - $160,000Remote

About The Position

We are seeking a Senior Product Manager with deep experience in Agentic AI and healthcare IT to help us design, build, and scale an agentic AI framework within SmartCare, our behavioral health EHR and practice management platform. This role is not theoretical AI product management. The ideal candidate has hands on experience transforming manual, human driven workflows into AI orchestrated, agent based systems—while operating within the real-world constraints of healthcare, including clinical safety, compliance, explainability, and operational trust. You will work closely with engineering, clinical leadership, compliance, and customers to identify high value workflows, decompose them into agent driven tasks, and define how intelligent agents collaborate with humans inside SmartCare. This role will shape how intelligence is embedded into SmartCare for the next decade. You will define how AI agents work with clinicians and staff—not replace them—while improving efficiency, quality, and scale across behavioral health organizations This position is remote and based in the United States. The salary range is $130,000 - $160,000, DOE. Employment visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of Product Management experience, with direct ownership of complex workflow platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience designing or delivering agentic AI, autonomous systems, or AI orchestration frameworks.
  • Hands‑on experience transforming manual workflows into AI‑driven or agent‑based workflows (not just AI feature enhancements).
  • Proven experience in healthcare IT, preferably EHRs, practice management, or clinical operations.
  • Strong understanding of clinical and administrative workflows in healthcare.
  • Working knowledge of healthcare compliance requirements (HIPAA; Part 2 familiarity strongly preferred).
  • Comfortable collaborating deeply with engineering on AI systems (without being a developer).
  • Practical understanding of: LLMs and AI decision systems Agent orchestration and task decomposition Context management, memory, and tool use Confidence scoring, guardrails, and escalation logic Goal based Agentic AI workflows (i.e., review and successfully rebill this denial)
  • Ability to reason about system behavior, failure modes, and safety constraints.
  • Strong analytical and systems-thinking mindset.
  • Ability to translate ambiguity into structured requirements, use cases and execution plans.
  • Clear, written and verbal communicator capable of explaining complex AI behavior simply and credibly.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience deploying AI solutions in regulated environments.
  • Experience with behavioral health, primary care, or inpatient systems.
  • Familiarity with AI governance, responsible AI frameworks, or clinical decision support regulation.
  • Experience working with Copilots, digital assistants, or multi-agent systems.
  • Experience launching platform capabilities (not just point features).

Responsibilities

  • Agentic AI Strategy & Framework Lead product strategy for building an agentic AI framework within SmartCare, enabling autonomous and semi‑autonomous AI agents to execute workflows across clinical, operational, and administrative domains.
  • Define how AI agents reason, act, collaborate, escalate, and learn within healthcare and practice management guardrails.
  • Establish patterns for human‑in‑the‑loop, human‑on‑the‑loop, and human‑out‑of‑the‑loop decision-making where appropriate.
  • Workflow Transformation Identify high-friction, manual workflows in behavioral health (e.g., intake, clinical documentation, utilization review, care coordination, scheduling, billing, compliance).
  • Decompose workflows into tasks, intents, data dependencies, and decision points suitable for agentic execution.
  • Translate current‑state workflows into AI‑driven, agent‑orchestrated future states with clear value hypotheses.
  • Product Execution Own the end‑to‑end product lifecycle: discovery, requirements, roadmap, delivery, adoption, and iteration.
  • Write clear, implementation‑ready product requirements that reflect agent behavior, orchestration rules, constraints, and fallback paths.
  • Partner with engineering to define agent architecture, tool usage, context management, and orchestration logic.
  • Ensure agent behaviors are observable, auditable, and explainable to customers and regulators.
  • Healthcare & Compliance Alignment Ensure agentic workflows align with HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, clinical safety standards, and evolving AI governance expectations.
  • Partner with compliance, legal, and clinical stakeholders to define acceptable autonomy boundaries.
  • Balance automation with clinician trust, patient safety, and operational accountability.
  • Customer & Market Leadership Engage directly with customers to validate workflow pain points and co‑design agentic solutions.
  • Translate customer feedback into product improvements and agent tuning strategies.
  • Help position SmartCare’s agentic capabilities in the market with clear, defensible differentiation.
