About The Position

eBay, Inc. seeks Senior Product Manager 2 - Technical in San Jose, CA. This role involves leading risk policy, data science, engineering, and operations teams in the design, development, and implementation of high-impact software and systems features, experiments, risk framework, and capabilities. The goal is to improve customer experience while managing financial loss due to fraud. The position requires designing and driving a user-focused project roadmap, defining and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs), communicating product vision, and supervising the installation and usage of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning models for fraud detection. It also involves creating strategic alignment with other teams, establishing a clear strategy for buyer risk, leading A/B testing, estimating engineering effort, planning implementations, and evaluating team performance. Partial telecommuting is permitted within a commutable distance.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration or a closely related field plus two years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
  • Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration or a closely related field plus five years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
  • Experience developing and interpreting fraud detection, transaction risk, and identity verification models (2 years)
  • Proficiency with SQL for large-scale data extraction, transformation, and analysis (2 years)
  • Working knowledge of machine learning concepts, including feature engineering, supervised and unsupervised classification, and anomaly detection (2 years)
  • Proficiency in Agile product management tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Asana for product backlog and roadmap tracking (2 years)
  • Strong understanding of data pipeline structures, real-time event processing, and decisioning systems (2 years)
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the risk policy, data science, engineering, and operations teams throughout the design, development, and implementation of high-impact software and systems features, experiments, risk framework, and capabilities that improve the customer experience while managing financial loss due to fraud.
  • Design and drive a user-focused project roadmap, utilizing data insights, qualitative user research, and design principles to enable genuine users.
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of product features and experiments.
  • Communicate product vision, roadmap, and progress to partners across the company.
  • Supervise and direct the installation and usage of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning models and tools to proactively detect fraud risk patterns.
  • Create strategic alignment with other products and cross-functional teams around vision, resourcing, and priorities to execute effectively.
  • Establish a clear strategy and vision for the area of focus within buyer risk by leveraging internal and external capabilities.
  • Lead A/B testing sequences to validate hypotheses and implement solutions to enhance conversion rates and user engagement and using experimental data to iteratively improve product performance and achieve key business objectives.
  • Lead and estimate engineering effort, plan implementations, and rollouts for applications integrating with cross-functional components.
  • Evaluate individual and team performance at each project checkpoint to proactively identify and mitigate any potential risks and maintain compliance with the timeline of deliverables.
