About The Position

Ford Motor Company is seeking a highly motivated and strategic ATP (Advanced Technology Industrial Platform) Senior Product Launch Manager to join our team at the Manufacturing Technology Development Center (MTDC). In this critical leadership role, you will be the driving force behind the seamless integration and scaling of advanced manufacturing technologies across the global Ford Manufacturing Network. You will act as the crucial bridge between technology development and plant execution, taking ownership of deployment strategy, resource allocation, and timeline management. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing), Business Management, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, product launch, or operations management within the automotive or advanced manufacturing industry.
  • Proven track record of directly managing large-scale technical deployment teams or cross-functional launch teams.
  • Demonstrated expertise in complex resource planning, capacity analysis, and master scheduling.
  • Extensive experience conducting manufacturing/plant readiness assessments and driving gap-closure plans.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Operations, or an MBA.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification or formal Agile/Scrum training.
  • Deep understanding of the Ford or Automotive Manufacturing Network, plant operations, and standard Ford launch processes.
  • Experience launching Advanced Technologies (e.g., Industry 4.0, robotics, automation, digital manufacturing systems, or EV infrastructure).
  • Exceptional executive-level communication skills, with the ability to distill complex technical/logistical challenges into clear reports for senior leadership.
  • Strong conflict-resolution skills and the ability to influence stakeholders without direct authority.

Responsibilities

  • Deployment Team Management & Leadership
  • Lead, mentor, and manage cross-functional deployment teams consisting of engineers, technicians, and project managers.
  • Establish clear performance objectives, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and ensure alignment with Ford’s overarching strategic goals.
  • Act as the primary liaison between the MTDC engineering teams, product development, and the receiving assembly/powertrain plants.
  • Deployment Resource Planning
  • Develop comprehensive resource management strategies to support concurrent ATP launches across multiple facilities.
  • Forecast, allocate, and manage personnel, budgets, and equipment to ensure optimal utilization and cost-efficiency.
  • Identify resource constraints early and develop proactive mitigation strategies to prevent launch delays.
  • Schedule & Timeline Management
  • Create, maintain, and execute master deployment schedules for all ATP initiatives within the Ford Manufacturing Network.
  • Integrate ATP deployment timelines with overarching vehicle program launch schedules (e.g., GPDS/FPDS milestones) to ensure zero disruption to plant operations.
  • Monitor critical path activities, track deployment milestones, and lead recovery plans for any off-track deliverables.
  • Plant Readiness & Execution
  • Own and execute comprehensive Plant Readiness Assessments prior to the installation of new technologies.
  • Collaborate with plant leadership to ensure receiving facilities meet all infrastructure, safety, operational, and technical prerequisites.
  • Drive the closure of all readiness gaps, ensuring local teams are fully trained and equipped to operate and maintain the new technology post-deployment.
  • Facilitate post-launch reviews and capture lessons learned to refine future deployment frameworks.
