About The Position

RELEX runs the planning decisions behind 600+ retailers and manufacturers worldwide, deciding, at real scale, what gets forecast, stocked, priced, promoted, and produced across the entire value chain. Few problems combine this much data, this much complexity, and this much real-world weight: get it right and a shelf stays stocked, a factory line doesn’t stall, food doesn’t spoil in a warehouse before it’s sold. Get it wrong, and it shows up in actual losses, for some of the largest retail and manufacturing brands in the world. We’ve grown for 76 consecutive quarters straight, and it’s still accelerating. The first half of 2026 was the strongest in the company’s history. We’re a team of 2,000+ people, headquartered in Helsinki, with offices across Europe, North America, and Asia-Pacific. In response to our fast growth, we're looking for a Product Engineer to help reinvent how RELEX builds and ships forecasting models. As a team, we own forecasting end to end for our retail and wholesale customers — both the new plugin-based models we're building and the models already running in production. We're reinventing how RELEX builds and ships forecasting, moving from a small number of monolithic models to a growing library of purpose-built, plugin-based ones, used by 400 to 500+ customers. This role sits at the core of that.

Requirements

  • Applied or theoretical understanding of modern forecasting and modelling methods
  • A proven track record of independently owning ML or modelling work end to end, from first concept to running in production.
  • Genuine enthusiasm for agentic, AI-assisted engineering, and comfort being evaluated on how you reason through problems and direct AI tools, not only on manual coding
  • Comfort working with real ambiguity and no fixed process
  • Confidence making decisions independently and shipping in weeks, not months
  • Comfort communicating directly with customers and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for customer work (roughly 1 to 2 trips a year)
  • Fluent in written and spoken English

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in retail or supply chain
  • Experience of working with an international team
  • Great communication and organizational skills

Responsibilities

  • Design, build and improve our plugin-based forecasting models end to end: feature engineering, testing, and iterating on performance in live customer environments
  • Take forecasting problems from business need to a working model running for a customer, with real ownership over the decisions along the way
  • Work directly across multiple customer environments, figuring out what generalizes and what needs to stay customer-specific
  • Use AI and agentic tools as a core part of how you build, pushing what they can do rather than using them passively
  • Operate with a high degree of autonomy in a distributed team, without a fixed playbook for how the work gets done

Benefits

  • First-mover ownership of an agentic engineering capability that doesn't exist yet at RELEX, with real permission to start simple and fail fast
  • An international career and learning opportunities
  • A rapidly growing and financially robust software company with exciting opportunities for career growth, also in the future
  • Flexibility in how and where you work
  • Room to thrive in a fast-growing global company with a good market position
  • Practical benefits that support work, family, wellness, and everyday life
  • Annual leave
  • Diverse, inclusive and supportive work culture
  • Work that meaningfully reduces waste and improves sustainability
  • Ownership, autonomy and flat hierarchies
  • Two paid volunteering days each year
