About The Position
The insurance industry, valued at $1.5 trillion, relies heavily on brokers. However, brokerages face capacity constraints in account management due to repetitive tasks like data entry, document retrieval, and other mundane work, which detracts from client-focused interactions. Many brokerages resort to outsourcing or manual processing for these tasks. Fulcrum is developing an AI platform to automate these tedious processes within the insurance industry. Our platform has already demonstrated significant value, saving customers thousands of hours and millions of dollars annually. We have achieved strong adoption within enterprise brokerages and are dedicated to improving our customers' operational efficiency. Following a successful Series A funding round, we are poised for substantial growth.
Requirements
- 4+ years of software engineering experience.
- Strong TypeScript proficiency (Python a plus).
- Proven track record of shipping user‑focused products.
- Excellence in cross‑functional collaboration and communication.
- Deep empathy for user needs and passion for user experience.
- Enjoy being hacky — getting something out to the customer as soon as possible.
- Experience building scalable systems.
Responsibilities
- Develop complete features across both frontend and backend layers of our application.
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code with appropriate test coverage.
- Troubleshoot and debug complex issues across the technology stack.
- Optimize application performance and scalability.
- Think like a PM as much as an engineer: you'll shape what gets built, not just how.
- Balance technical considerations with user needs and business goals.
- Talk to customers, take in their feedback, and turn it into product decisions.
