About The Position

Draper is an independent, nonprofit research and development company headquartered in Cambridge, MA, with over 2,000 employees. Draper addresses national challenges in areas like military defense, space exploration, and biomedical engineering, providing successful and usable solutions. The company fosters a collaborative environment with multidisciplinary teams of engineers and scientists to inspire innovation. The Transition to Production and Deployment group at Draper is seeking a Product Development Systems Engineer to join multidisciplinary teams. This role involves full system lifecycle development and management of complex electrical, mechanical, and software-based test equipment for systems in mission domains such as strategic defense systems, hypersonic and space systems, precision guided munitions, and autonomous air/sea vehicles. The Product Systems Engineer will lead Systems Engineering Integration and Test efforts across the system lifecycle, from system-level decomposition and design through development, sell-off, and deployment. The position requires applying strong systems engineering principles to the product development process for Product Deployment, including concept, requirements management design, simulation, Integration & Test processes, and data package development, review, and release, with a focus on ensuring successful subsequent phases of the system. Key elements of the job include engaging with customers, cross-functional teams, and external partners to develop and manage requirements and interface designs for highly accurate strategic sensors, inertial navigation systems, fault tolerant computing, enhanced ground testing, integration and test environments, engineering qualification, factory acceptance test, and deploy system surveillance and upgrades.
