About The Position

International Motors is seeking a Senior Product Development Engineer to support all stages of the product lifecycle, including development, modifications, upgrades, maintenance, and continuous improvement. The role collaborates with engineering and business teams across the plant and broader organization to support product performance, quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction. As a central technical resource, the engineer works with Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, Testing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Marketing to transition products from concept through production, launch, distribution, and ongoing field support. This salaried position supports a manufacturing operation and aligns primarily with the night production shift: Monday through Thursday, 5:30 PM to 4:00 AM. Production on this shift is planned to begin in early 2027. Employees are expected to provide operational support as needed, which may include work outside normal production hours, extended shifts, startup activities, recovery efforts, and occasional weekend support. A 10% shift differential applies upon transitioning to the night shift.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Computer Science and at least 1 year of product design/development and/or computer science experience; OR a Master's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Computer Science.
Qualified candidates, excluding current employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (U.S. Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee, or Asylee) to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

Lead and support all phases of the product lifecycle, including design, development, validation, launch, production support, maintenance, and end-of-life activities.
Serve as the primary engineering resource for assigned products and product lines, ensuring performance, quality, reliability, and cost objectives are achieved.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Testing, Supply Chain, Purchasing, and Marketing, to drive successful product execution.
Investigate and resolve product design, manufacturing, and field performance issues using root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Develop, review, and release engineering documentation, including specifications, drawings, bills of materials, engineering change notices, and test plans.
Support product validation and verification to ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and company requirements.
Lead product improvement initiatives focused on quality, reliability, manufacturability, serviceability, and cost reduction.
Analyze product performance data, warranty information, and customer feedback to identify continuous improvement opportunities.
Coordinate engineering changes and ensure effective implementation across manufacturing and supply chain operations.
Provide technical support to manufacturing plants, suppliers, internal stakeholders, and customers as needed.
Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and problem-solving activities.
Support new product introduction and transitions from development into production.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute technical expertise to cross-functional project teams.
Manage technical deliverables, schedules, risks, and stakeholder communications to drive project execution.
Ensure adherence to engineering standards, quality systems, and applicable industry regulations.
