This role sits at the forefront of Bumble’s AI-powered future. You’ll lead the design of Bee AI and “Dates powered by Bee,” shaping everything from conversational experiences and match presentation to voice interfaces and real-world date inspiration. Your work will directly influence how millions of people navigate connection, blending cutting-edge AI with thoughtful, inclusive design. You’ll collaborate across Product, Engineering, Data, and Product Marketing to bring these experiences to life—championing our values of Curiosity and Courage as you explore new interaction paradigms and push boundaries responsibly. Requirements

You design with empathy and intention, consistently centering diverse user needs and championing inclusive, safe experiences in line with Bumble’s values of Respect and Courage.
You bring strong experience designing end-to-end product experiences, ideally within consumer apps, with a portfolio that demonstrates high-quality interaction and visual design.
You have hands-on experience designing for AI-powered products, including conversational UX, generative outputs, or recommendation systems.
You’re fluent in Figma and comfortable using AI-powered tools (e.g., Claude or similar) to support design exploration, prototyping, and iteration.
You have experience conducting user testing and validation, translating qualitative and quantitative insights into clear design improvements.
You understand how to design for ambiguity—balancing experimentation with thoughtful decision-making, and applying an agile mindset to evolving product spaces.
You collaborate with purpose, communicate clearly across disciplines, take ownership of outcomes, and see work through from concept to launch and beyond.
You are curious about the evolving role of AI in product design, and apply it thoughtfully—balancing efficiency with care, and exercising strong judgment in responsible and inclusive use.
Typically requires 6–8 years of experience, though we welcome candidates with alternative backgrounds that demonstrate equivalent skills.

Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end design for Bee AI and “Dates powered by Bee,” delivering intuitive, engaging experiences across chat, match exploration, and date recommendation journeys.
Design AI-powered conversational interfaces, including chat flows, system behaviors, and voice UI interactions, ensuring clarity, trust, and usability at every step.
Shape how AI-generated suggestions (matches, prompts, date ideas) are presented, balancing automation with user agency and transparency.
Partner closely with Product Marketing to design acquisition and onboarding flows that seamlessly introduce members to Bee AI experiences and communicate their value.
Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Data partners to define product direction, aligning user needs with technical capabilities and constraints.
Prototype and validate concepts using tools like Figma and AI-assisted design workflows (e.g., Claude or similar), iterating quickly based on insights and experimentation.
Conduct and synthesize user research and usability testing to continuously improve experiences, ensuring they are inclusive, safe, and aligned with Bumble’s value of Respect.
Take ownership of delivery from insight to impact—working cross-functionally, adapting plans with an agile mindset, and championing high-quality outcomes that scale.
