About The Position

Float is seeking a creative, innovative, and customer-obsessed Senior Product Designer to join their team. This role is responsible for building a seamless Corporate Spending experience and creating/capturing value by accelerating the adoption and usage of existing products. The designer will work closely with cross-functional teams to take products from concept through launch, partner with customers to understand their needs, and own the overall user-facing application design, flows, and experiences. The position emphasizes prioritizing activities based on business and customer impact, communicating the rationale behind the product roadmap, and transforming conceptual ideas into valuable customer experiences.

Requirements

  • 3-5+ years of Product Design experience, preferably in B2B SaaS, early to mid-stage startup environments.
  • Understanding of modern, front-end engineering tools and practices, and how they work together to deliver a great experience.
  • Technically proficient in Figma.
  • Ability to build clean, reusable components based on existing constraints and auto-layout everything.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity; scrappy and enjoy finding creative ways to work through obstacles.
  • Experience taking ownership of the product experience.
  • Outstanding time management skills.
  • Ability to create a vision and execute it.
  • Leverage quantitative and qualitative data to analyze work and consistently improve products.
  • Excellent cross-functional communication skills, effortlessly connecting with any team in an organization, especially Engineering.
  • Astute influencing skills, with the ability to bring multiple stakeholders together and problem-solve between various groups.
  • Skilled listener, able to understand and synthesize diverse perspectives and opinions.
  • Understanding of the market, with experience in accounting/finance related products or working closely with finance leaders.
  • Commercially focused with an understanding of the market and the business.
  • ROI mindset.
  • Customer-obsessed; focused on building relationships, understanding customer needs, and advocating for them passionately.
  • Takes complete ownership and accountability of delivery and outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Working closely with Product Management, Engineering, Operations, Marketing, and Sales teams to take products from broad concepts through implementation and launch.
  • Partnering with customers to gain a deep understanding of their experiences and needs, identifying and filling product gaps while generating new ideas that empower them and drive growth.
  • Discovering additional methods to analyze customer feedback and measure product outcomes.
  • Owning the look, feel, and experience of our user-facing application, design flows, and experiences, ensuring they’re simple and elegant.
  • Prioritizing activities based on business and customer impact, focusing on features that move the needle.
  • Communicating the ‘why’ behind the product roadmap, prioritization, and sequencing.
  • Developing and delivering mock-ups, prototypes, and detailed specifications to communicate design and interaction.
  • Taking broad, conceptual ideas and transforming them into useful and valuable experiences for our customers.
