About The Position

At Omnicell, we’re transforming medication management by building a unified, cloud‑based platform that connects automated dispensing cabinets, mobile workflows, and AI‑powered intelligence into a single, cohesive ecosystem. Our work directly impacts clinicians, pharmacists, and patients—helping healthcare teams work safer, faster, and smarter every day. As a Senior Product Designer, you’ll design beyond screens. You’ll shape end‑to‑end journeys across cloud, mobile, and device experiences, partner deeply with product and engineering, and use AI‑assisted tools to move from insight to working prototype faster than traditional design processes allow. If you’re excited to replace static specs with interactive, testable solutions—and bring consumer‑grade usability to healthcare—this role was built for you.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of product design experience delivering complex, multi‑workflow systems in healthcare, enterprise SaaS, or similarly regulated domains.
  • A portfolio that emphasizes interactive prototypes, demonstrating end‑to‑end journeys, systems thinking, and measurable user or business impact.
  • Advanced proficiency in Figma, including AI‑assisted capabilities (e.g., Figma Make), with comfort using code‑backed prototyping or vibe‑coding tools.
  • Proven experience integrating AI into your design workflow beyond copywriting—partnering with AI for research synthesis, strategic exploration, and prototyping.
  • Strong facilitation and storytelling skills, with the ability to present to leadership and influence cross‑functional teams without formal authority.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience designing across cloud, mobile, and hardware‑adjacent interfaces within a shared ecosystem.
  • Background in healthcare, clinical workflows, or regulated product environments.
  • Familiarity with service design or systems‑level design methodologies.
  • Education in design, HCI, psychology, or a related field—or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end‑to‑end journey design, accounting for system states, edge cases, error handling, and recovery paths—not just happy‑path screens.
  • Deliver interactive, high‑fidelity prototypes (using tools such as Figma Make, vibe‑coding environments, or equivalent) as the primary design artifact; static specifications are the exception.
  • Translate patterns and interactions from adjacent industries (fintech, retail, consumer tech) into healthcare‑appropriate solutions that meet regulatory and clinical constraints.
  • Contribute to and evolve Omnicell’s design system, including tokens, components, and usage guidelines across cloud, mobile, and device surfaces.
  • Use AI daily as a design partner—for ideation, layout exploration, content generation, research synthesis, and code‑assisted prototyping.
  • Apply clear quality criteria to evaluate AI outputs, refining or rejecting suggestions based on user needs, business goals, and technical feasibility.
  • Explore and prototype AI‑enabled experiences such as adaptive interfaces, intelligent workflows, and data‑driven recommendations.
  • Facilitate cross‑functional design sprints and workshops with Product Management, Engineering, and clinical subject‑matter experts.
  • Operate within durable product triads (Designer + PM + Engineering Lead), focused on shipping outcomes—not handoffs.
  • Influence decisions beyond your immediate team by clearly articulating trade‑offs, presenting rationale, and building alignment across stakeholders.
  • Lead discovery and validation efforts through journey mapping, ethnographic research, and user interviews with pharmacists, clinicians, and operations teams.
  • Apply methods from service design, behavioral science, and operations research to deeply understand complex pharmacy and medication workflows.
  • Tie design decisions to measurable outcomes such as adoption, task‑time reduction, NPS, and operational efficiency.
  • Monitor competitive and market trends to inform differentiation and platform‑level design strategy.
  • Coach peers through regular feedback, documented best practices, and shared craft playbooks that scale team impact.
  • Challenge assumptions, lead retrospectives, and drive process improvements when evidence calls for change.

Benefits

  • Employee Impact Groups, which foster inclusion and belonging
  • learning and well-being programs that support personal and professional growth
  • support and reasonable adjustments for individuals with disabilities during our hiring process
