DecagonSan Francisco, CA
$212,000 - $265,000Onsite

About The Position

Decagon is seeking a Senior Product Designer to join their early and growing design team. This role offers a high-visibility, high-ownership opportunity to directly shape the product, the company, and the interaction patterns within the conversational AI industry. The designer will work across various customer segments, collaborating closely with engineering, product, and go-to-market teams to ensure the platform is robust, scalable, and user-friendly. The core of the role involves inventing new design patterns for how enterprises build, control, and trust autonomous AI agents, impacting chat, voice, and authoring interfaces. The designer will be responsible for end-to-end ownership of initiatives, from discovery and scoping to launch and adoption, turning ambiguity into clarity and balancing vision, craft, speed, and business potential. The role involves customer interviews, translating insights into the roadmap, shipping features and refinements, and building foundational design systems. Fluency with AI coding tools is considered part of the design craft, with prototyping expected in Figma and AI tools like Cursor and Claude Code. As a founding member, the designer will also help shape the team's culture, hiring, and working methods.

  • Ability to explain ideas clearly and build alignment with product, engineering, research, and marketing partners.
  • Fluency in Figma and AI-powered design tools.
  • Prototyping skills that make an idea tangible in hours, not days.
  • Excitement about AI and understanding of how it works.
  • An ownership mindset.

  • Hands-on experience with voice technology, such as conversational AI, speech synthesis, or audio production.
  • Wide design experience, with the ability to zoom out to systems thinking and strategy, then zoom in to pixel-level details and flows.

Responsibilities
