Senior Product Designer (UX/UI)

About The Position

Ford Pro is looking for an experienced Senior Product Designer (UX/UI) to join our digital product design team. The initial focus of this role will be the Ford Pro App, a key part of the Ford Pro digital ecosystem used by fleet managers and drivers to understand vehicle status, manage fleet operations and take action while on the move. We are entering an important phase in the evolution of the app. As Ford Pro brings more of its products and services together, the app is evolving beyond its origins as a telematics companion toward a broader mobile experience connecting customers with capabilities across the Ford Pro ecosystem. You will help shape that evolution. We are looking for a Senior Product Designer (UX/UI) who is comfortable taking ownership of large, ambiguous product problems, creating clarity where the path is not yet defined and turning complex customer and business needs into simple, coherent experiences. You will work as a strategic partner to Product and Engineering, helping define problems and influence product direction—not simply responding to requirements. You should be comfortable moving between experience strategy, information architecture, user journeys, interaction design, prototyping and detailed production UI. This role requires strong systems thinking. Ford Pro is a large ecosystem of products, services, customer types, permissions, subscriptions and vehicle experiences. You will need to understand how those pieces connect and design experiences that work as part of a broader system rather than as isolated features. While native mobile experience is highly valuable, we are ultimately looking for an exceptional product designer. This role may also contribute to web or cross-platform initiatives as the needs of the organization evolve. This is a remote role, working closely with distributed Product, Engineering, Research, Data and Design teams. Candidates who are in commuting distance to a Ford hub location may be required to commute to the office four or more days/ week.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
  • 6+ years of product design experience, with a strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end ownership of shipped digital products, excellent interaction and visual design craft, and the impact of your work.
  • 3+ years of experience with Figma, prototyping and design systems, with a solid understanding of usability, accessibility, information architecture and modern product-design practices.
  • 3+ years of experience designing complex digital products or ecosystems; experience with B2B, SaaS, enterprise or operational products is particularly valuable.
  • 6 months + familiarity with emerging AI-assisted design and prototyping workflows is valuable, alongside strong systems-thinking skills and experience simplifying complex products, workflows, and ecosystems into clear, coherent customer experiences.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in UI/UX Design, Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCXI), Computer Science or a related field
  • Native mobile design experience is preferred, including familiarity with iOS and Android patterns, although strong designers with web or cross-platform product experience will also be considered.
  • Ability to move comfortably between strategic/system-level thinking and detailed interaction/UI design.
  • Strong systems-thinking capability, with experience simplifying complex products, workflows or ecosystems into coherent customer experiences.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • A portfolio that clearly demonstrates your role, the problem you were solving, how you arrived at decisions and the impact of the work.

Responsibilities

  • Own complex product design work end-to-end, from problem definition and discovery through concept development, prototyping, validation, delivery and post-launch iteration.
  • Operate with a high degree of autonomy, taking ambiguous problems, creating structure and direction, and driving work forward without requiring continuous design oversight.
  • Play a central role in the evolution and redesign of the Ford Pro App, helping rethink its experience, navigation, interaction model and product architecture.
  • Help evolve the app from primarily a telematics companion into a broader mobile entry point to the Ford Pro ecosystem, connecting capabilities and journeys across Ford Pro.
  • Design experiences that serve different customer types and contexts, including the distinct needs of fleet managers, administrators and drivers.
  • Define and evolve information architecture, navigation and interaction patterns that can scale as additional products, capabilities and customer journeys are introduced.
  • Apply strong systems thinking to understand dependencies across products, services, platforms, data and user roles and translate them into coherent end-to-end experiences.
  • Work closely with Product and Engineering as a strategic partner, helping frame problems, identify opportunities, assess trade-offs and influence product direction.
  • Partner with Research, Data/Analytics and other Design teams to understand customer behaviour and use qualitative and quantitative evidence to inform decisions.
  • Translate customer needs, business objectives and technical constraints into clear user journeys, flows, wireframes, prototypes and production-ready designs.
  • Maintain a high bar for interaction and visual design craft, creating intuitive, accessible and polished experiences across mobile and, where required, web.
  • Work effectively with established design systems, while identifying where new patterns, components or interaction models are needed.
  • Prototype at different levels of fidelity to explore ideas, test assumptions, communicate intent and accelerate decision-making.
  • Define appropriate success measures with Product, Research and Analytics and use post-launch data and customer feedback to continuously improve experiences.
  • Communicate design rationale clearly, using storytelling, prototypes and evidence to build alignment with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
  • Facilitate workshops, design reviews and working sessions that help teams frame problems, explore alternatives and reach decisions.
  • Collaborate closely with other designers, contributing to critique, sharing knowledge and helping raise the overall quality and consistency of the Ford Pro experience.
  • Contribute beyond the immediate product area when needed, supporting cross-platform mobile and web experiences and broader Ford Pro initiatives.
