About The Position

The Senior Producer, Hockey, is a key member of the Sportsnet Hockey Production Leadership team. The Senior Producer will work alongside the Executive Producer to shape the vision, set expectations and deliver Sportsnet’s hockey strategy both in studio and on remote. They are a leader who communicates clearly and creates a collaborative environment to help everyone reach collective and individual goals. This role requires strong TV broadcast and hockey editorial knowledge. The successful candidate must be able to lead by example, work independently and within a team dynamic, employ a strong work ethic, manage partner and company expectations while understanding the importance of great storytelling. They will work alongside SN Central, Digital, Radio, Marketing, Creative, Operations and Sales Management to ensure everyone’s collective needs are understood and met.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 to 15 years of TV broadcast experience
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills with a commitment to detail
  • A strong leader with a focus on collaboration and emphasizing a team approach
  • A passion for and understanding of hockey
  • A strong knowledge of the present-day NHL, key players, and historical milestones of the NHL
  • Self-motivated and innovative.
  • Willing to work varied shifts as required

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate of a recognized broadcasting/television production program preferred

Responsibilities

  • In tandem with the NHL Executive Producer, create, plan and execute on hockey content and programming. Deliverables include: Daily Hockey Central program, specialty events including NHL Trade Deadline, NHL Signing Season, NHL Draft, select remote productions and 3rd party partnerships.
  • Senior editorial lead inside and outside the control room. Ensuring both production and technical crews understand the vision, philosophy and expectations.
  • Scheduling and management of hockey staff including Iso Directors, Associate Producers and Font AD’s
  • Lead focused and informative editorial and technical meetings with producers, on-air talent and support staff
  • Attend frequent meetings with other departments within Rogers Sports & Media focused on shared hockey goals
  • Ensure delivery of all sales and sponsorship items within hockey programming
