About The Position

This leadership role is responsible for overseeing procurement, materials management, inventory control, and logistics activities within a manufacturing environment. The individual will serve as a hands-on leader, supporting daily operations while driving process standardization, supplier performance, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure material availability aligns with production and customer commitments.

Requirements

Progressive experience in procurement, materials management, supply chain, or related manufacturing leadership roles.
Demonstrated leadership experience managing and developing teams.
Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, and material flow processes.
Experience with supplier management, sourcing strategies, contract negotiations, and procurement execution.
Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems within a manufacturing environment.
Experience using JD Edwards (JDE) or similar enterprise resource planning systems.
Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Proven problem-solving, decision-making, and prioritization abilities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Ability to work effectively in both office and manufacturing plant environments.
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Operations, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.

Nice To Haves

APICS, CPIM, or CSCP certification.
Lean Manufacturing experience.
Six Sigma training or certification.
Experience supporting multiple business units within a manufacturing organization.

Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day leadership for purchasing, materials management, inventory control, and logistics operations.
Lead and develop a team of procurement and materials professionals through coaching, accountability, and performance management.
Support sourcing activities, supplier negotiations, purchase order execution, and supplier relationship management.
Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Finance, and Program teams to ensure alignment between material readiness and production requirements.
Manage supplier performance related to quality, cost, delivery, and service expectations.
Identify opportunities to improve commercial terms, reduce lead times, and mitigate supply chain risks.
Oversee inventory planning and control processes to balance material availability with working capital objectives.
Partner with production leadership to support achievable production schedules based on material and capacity constraints.
Coordinate shipping and receiving activities while ensuring efficient movement of materials and finished goods.
Maintain accurate purchasing, inventory, receiving, and shipping documentation and transactions.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, cost, and inventory performance.
Support process integration and standardization efforts across multiple business units.
Foster ethical sourcing practices, operational discipline, and adherence to company standards and values.
