About The Position

Saronic is seeking a Senior Manager of Procurement to support its Direct and Indirect teams across the company and help produce and deliver autonomous surface vessels for the DoD. The role leads, manages, and builds teams responsible for sourcing, procurement, and supplier management across multiple sites. It includes onboarding reliable suppliers, negotiating contracts, ensuring timely delivery of materials, maintaining quality standards, using data analytics to guide decisions, and developing a cost-effective global procurement strategy. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to advanced technology and national defense capabilities.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in procurement and supplier management; defense or maritime industry experience is preferred.
• Prior management experience supporting teams of 10 or more individuals.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing flow, constraints, and execution tradeoffs.
• Ability to prioritize under pressure and manage competing demands.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
• Strong negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in procurement software and tools.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, industrial engineering, operations, supply chain, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in the defense or maritime industry.
• Familiarity with government procurement regulations such as FAR and DFAR.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain supplier relationships, monitor supplier performance, and address issues to ensure quality, cost, and delivery requirements are met.
• Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and reliability, and develop a diversified supply base.
• Negotiate supplier terms, conditions, pricing, and contracts to achieve cost-effective agreements while maintaining quality.
• Conduct cost analysis and benchmarking to identify savings opportunities and improve supply-chain cost efficiency.
• Identify potential supply-chain risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure continuity of supply.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with government regulations and industry standards, particularly those related to defense contracts.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, logistics, and other cross-functional teams to support project goals and timelines.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance procurement and supply-chain efficiency and effectiveness.
• Lead, manage, and build teams performing sourcing, procurement, and supplier-management activities across multiple sites.
