About The Position

The Senior Process Project Engineer will lead the specification, procurement, installation, commissioning, and startup of process equipment for specialty ceramic and powder manufacturing. This role involves managing equipment packages through the entire project lifecycle, developing project schedules and forecasts, creating engineering drawings, evaluating suppliers, and ensuring successful project execution through collaboration with various stakeholders. The engineer will also define utility requirements, P&IDs, and control narratives, and be responsible for commissioning, startup, performance testing, and operator training. Troubleshooting and identifying continuous improvement opportunities are also key aspects of this position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Business Management, or a related discipline.
  • Proven project management experience, with 5+ years delivering projects in industrial or manufacturing environments.
  • Demonstrated success with large-scale capital projects, including projects with budgets of $10M or greater.
  • Strong financial and scheduling acumen, capable of developing estimates, managing budgets, and maintaining baseline schedules.
  • Highly effective communicator and collaborator, able to align diverse stakeholders and lead teams toward shared objectives.
  • Proficiency with project and engineering tools such as Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office, and AutoCAD.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident (green card holder) or otherwise classifiable as a U.S. person under relevant regulations due to export control laws.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional credentials preferred, including PMP certification, Professional Engineer (P.E.) license, Lean or Six Sigma experience, or advanced degrees (MS, MBA, PhD).

Responsibilities

  • Leading the specification, procurement, installation, commissioning, and startup of process equipment for specialty ceramic and powder manufacturing.
  • Developing technical requirements and equipment specifications for various systems including solution mixing, spray drying, calcining, milling, blending, screening, material handling, dust collection, and packaging.
  • Managing assigned equipment packages through the complete project lifecycle: engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation, commissioning, and performance validation.
  • Developing and maintaining project schedules, resource plans, and project forecasts using Microsoft Project.
  • Creating and reviewing process layouts, equipment arrangements, and facility integration drawings using AutoCAD and other engineering design tools.
  • Evaluating equipment suppliers, reviewing technical proposals, conducting bid evaluations, and supporting equipment selection and purchasing decisions.
  • Collaborating with operations, maintenance, quality, safety, engineering, construction, and equipment suppliers to ensure successful project execution.
  • Defining utility requirements, process flow diagrams, P&IDs, control narratives, and facility integration requirements for new manufacturing systems.
  • Leading successful equipment commissioning, startup activities, performance testing, operator training, and production readiness efforts.
  • Troubleshooting process and equipment issues and identifying continuous improvement opportunities.
