Senior Process Engineer

Luminize•Fort Worth, TX
•$105,000 - $135,000•Onsite

About The Position

Coastal Trading Ventures (CTV), part of the Luminize business, is hiring a Senior Process Engineer to improve warehouse efficiency at its onsite fulfillment operation in Fort Worth, Texas. This is a greenfield role and the first industrial engineer on the ground, helping shape an in-house warehouse management system (WMS) around actual physical workflows across an environment with more than 8,000 SKUs. The role focuses on eliminating waste, establishing labor standards, and redesigning processes across warehouse operations. The engineer will work hands-on on the warehouse floor and partner with Operations leadership, using operational data and process analysis to improve throughput, inventory health, and labor cost per unit. The position offers visibility into career paths and advancement opportunities, including leadership, specialization, and cross-functional roles.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification at Green Belt level or higher.
  • At least 5 years of experience in process optimization and continuous improvement.
  • Hands-on experience in e-commerce fulfillment, 3PL, or high-volume manual assembly environments such as kitting, bundling, or packaging.
  • Ability to work without an established playbook and define processes alongside an in-development WMS.
  • Strong analytical ability to translate raw data into actionable strategies.
  • Strong root-cause analysis skills, including distinguishing data-integrity issues from physical-process issues in recurring inventory variances.
  • Track record of resolving bottlenecks through structural and layout improvements.
  • Experience diagnosing and reducing shrinkage, with a named control that measurably improved the rate.
  • Ability to own KPIs end to end, define metrics and baselines, and identify the specific changes that moved them using quantified claims with baselines.
  • Comfort working on the warehouse floor; this is not a desk-only role.

Nice To Haves

  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt certification.

Responsibilities

  • Shape in-house WMS system logic to reflect physical workflows.
  • Identify and eliminate non-value-added activities across warehouse zones.
  • Conduct floor-level time-and-motion studies and establish baseline labor standards and standardized work procedures.
  • Analyze high-volume kitting and assembly workflows to address labor bottlenecks in manual packaging, including shrink-wrapping, boxing, and bundling.
  • Optimize line balancing, ergonomics, and component presentation to reduce operator reach, waiting, and walking time.
  • Redesign pack stations, slotting logic, and pick paths to reduce travel time and unnecessary forklift and pedestrian movement.
  • Compare physical labor flows with the in-development WMS, identify software-related process gaps and manual workarounds, and provide findings to the system build.
  • Develop poka-yoke error-proofing measures to help inventory flow without manual intervention or rework.
  • Partner with Operations leadership to measure and report cost savings and connect efficiency improvements to lower labor cost per unit.
  • Own and monitor warehouse-efficiency and inventory-health KPIs, including labor cost per unit, shrink rate, and pick accuracy; determine whether plateaus reflect data or process issues before proposing fixes.
