The Electro Optical Infrared Systems (EOIS) line of business within DRS has locations in Dallas and Austin, TX, Melbourne, FL, and Cypress, CA. Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in engineering field (or equivalent combination of education/training and experience).
  • 5+ years applicable engineering experience.
  • Specialties may include manufacturing, production, industrial, welding, tooling, testing, processing, software, and robotics.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Electrical or Mechanical degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs moderately complex functions in the process design, fabrication, modification and/or evaluation of Production operations.
  • May prepare complicated plans, conduct support studies, provide analysis or tests in the development of Production operations.
  • May assign work to drafters and/or technicians and provide guidance to lower level engineers.
  • Responsibilities are diverse in scope where analysis of situations or data requires sound judgment.
  • General guidance given on new assignments as needed.
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization.
  • Design, develop, modify and analyze processes of products.
  • Troubleshoots and diagnoses problems with existing products and makes modifications and improvements as needed.
  • Compiles and evaluates product design and test data.
  • Evaluates and recommends design approaches to meet production requirements for new or improved products.
  • Working knowledge of statistical techniques in development such as Design of Experiments and SPC.
