About The Position

The Senior Process Engineer will drive change through continuous process improvement in all operations, provide process engineering troubleshooting for sheet extrusion lines and associated equipment, and identify, plan, and execute process improvements.

Requirements

B.S. in Engineering: Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical.
5-10 years of operations experience in manufacturing, maintenance, or engineering.
Knowledge of industry Quality Systems.
Understanding of Lean Manufacturing.
Strong verbal and written communications skills.
Team orientation.
Well-versed in SAP, Excel, Word, Outlook, and other corporate supplied software.
Human relation skills.

Responsibilities

Maintain a high level of safety assurance through a continuous safety training and awareness program, maintenance of safety procedures, and safety contact with workers.
Provide technical directions to operators and others in manufacturing departments as necessary, to maintain maximum efficiency of personnel and equipment in a safe manner.
Develop and execute product and process development schedules as part of an ongoing program to improve quality, cost, and productivity so that budgeted goals and planned objectives are met.
Lead raw-material initiatives all the way through qualification to improve cost, supply resilience, quality, etc.
Troubleshooting product and process problems and conduct route cause analyses on those problems.
Maintain and update process documentation such as Standard Operating Procedures, Product Specifications, and Standard Operating Conditions.
Direct the digitalization improvements and sustainability of digitalization tools.
Maintain and learn SAP transactions relevant to process engineering.
Work closely with maintenance and Project Engineering to coordinate installation of engineering projects and assist in timely resolution of maintenance problems.
Work with the Technology and Innovations Team to support product development and production training.
Work with the Commercial and Sales Teams to assist and acquire customers and generate business.
Work directly with customers to help resolve quality concerns and improve their satisfaction.
Ensure the employee is completely conversant with applicable safety, loss prevention, and environmental standards of the Company, and aware of regulatory requirements, implementing them as specified.
Work with the SHE Department to resolve safety, health, ergonomic, or environmental concerns or issues that may arise site wide.
Review operations daily with manufacturing, resolve problems as a team, and provide off shift support when necessary.
Assist the department in meeting budgeted volumes, yields and usages.
Recommend changes to process equipment and procedures.
Communicate with other Company locations, outside contractors, service groups, and customers.
Initiate and complete Six Sigma Black Belt projects.
Initiate and complete TPM teams.
Execute corrective actions for customer complaints or issues.
Improve digitalization tools.
Define key operating parameters (SOCs and SOPs).
Recommend product and service quality improvements.
Recommend new digitalization tools.
Recommend product development trials, production runs, customer visits, and customer feedback.
Recommend plant quality procedures and programs.
Recommend raw material changes for operational, logistical, cost, net working capital and/or quality reasons.
Define key process parameters, product development plans, etc. for Operations.
Work with the Applications and Solutions Development Team to evaluate quality requirements on new products and specifications.
Work with Project Engineering to justify capital expenditures, and then own the execution of the completed projects.
Work with the Commercial Team on new and existing product quality and customer requirements.
Interact with customers on quality requirements and issues.
Resolve quality issues directly with customers.
Recommend product and service changes to customers.
