About The Position

The Senior Process Engineer will follow all work instructions, equipment operating procedures, quality standards, and safety rules/guidelines while participating in a collaborative, team environment to achieve company goals. This role involves monitoring and improving the performance of Production Processes, interpreting and learning Reaction Chemistry, identifying and resolving production-related issues, and managing process improvement projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelors in Chemical Engineering
  • 3+ Years Manufacturing Experience in an Engineering Role
  • 3+ Years Experience of root cause problem solving
  • Experience with MOC/CAPA process.
  • Ability to conduct Investigations (Customer Complaints, Off-Spec Production, Equipment Failures, Production Process Upsets, etc.)
  • Ability to be taught and quickly learn common Unit Operations used in the Chemical Manufacturing Industry.
  • ISO9001 / EFfCI / GMP Production Experience

Nice To Haves

  • Statistical Process Control (SPC)/ Statistical Quality Control (SQC)
  • Experience with chemical reactions, vacuum dryers, and powder handling/packaging operations.
  • Working experience and/or knowledge of the following Reaction Chemistries: Batch Polymerizations / Oligomerization Reactions (Bulk, Emulsion, Free-Radical, Nucleophilic Substitution). Esterification and Trans-Esterification Hydrolysis Reactions
  • Working experience and/or knowledge of the following Unit Operations: Distillation Processes, Filtration Processes – Cloth Filter Presses, Belt Filters, Rotary Dryers

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and improve performance of Production Processes related to the Production Unit (Up to 4 Production Processes)
  • Interpret, be taught, and quickly learn Reaction Chemistry.
  • Identify production related issues and generate appropriate continuous improvements.
  • Collect, interpret, analyze, and correlate data for troubleshooting with productivity issues, quality issues, equipment issues, etc.
  • Define and implement the necessary improvements based findings.
  • Conduct an Investigation (Customer Complaints, Off-Spec Production, Equipment Failures, Production Process Upsets, etc.)
  • Manage Process Improvement Projects.
  • Correlate Final Product Quality to Production Processing Data
  • Track Production Yields and Perform Mass Balances.
  • Utilize Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Statistical Quality Control (SQC) tools.
  • Collaborate with various departments / stakeholders (Quality, Production Operators/Supervisors, Management, Warehouse, Maintenance, Sales, etc)
