About The Position

This position requires demonstrated leadership and expertise in the development, scale-up, and transfer of purification processes for plasma-derived proteins. The role requires the application of comprehensive process understanding of purification unit operations (e.g. precipitation, filtration, chromatography, and tangential flow filtration) to design, execute, analyze, and report technical studies. The incumbent will lead and/or independently conduct studies within a project team to generate data that supports meaningful conclusions. This position is best suited for a self-starter who can adapt to evolving projects and work environments effectively. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication and leadership capabilities, with a proven ability to work both independently and as a member of cross-functional teams.

  • Strong understanding of scientific principles and process sciences.
  • Proficiency in experimental design and statistical analysis.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and optimize experimental setups.
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy and precision in all experimental work and recorded data (e.g. laboratory notebooks).
  • Demonstrate proficiency in technical writing.
  • Adaptability to evolving project requirements and timelines.
  • Possesses a strong ability to set and meet deadlines, multi-task, and prioritize personal objectives based on project needs.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry, or a relevant science/engineering field with 7+ years of relevant work experience, or an advanced degree with equivalent combination of education and experience (for Scientist I).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry, or a relevant science/engineering field with 8+ years of relevant work experience, or an advanced degree with equivalent combination of education and experience (for Scientist II).

Responsibilities

  • Lead process development projects by defining deliverables, planning and coordinating activities, overseeing execution, providing direct laboratory support, analyzing experimental data, and communicating technical results and recommendations to cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Design, plan, and execute scientifically sound experiments by leveraging process knowledge to evaluate key variables and support development objectives.
  • Develop and implement experimental protocols, methodologies, and data collection strategies to ensure reliable, reproducible, and technically robust results that support project goals and decision-making.
  • Analyze experimental data to draw meaningful conclusions and provide actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate experimental findings into process development and optimization.
