About The Position

As a Senior Process Control Engineer, you will provide technical expertise for designing, maintaining, and modifying the process control and safety systems in PPG's manufacturing facilities to produce PPG coating products. You will be based at the Springdale, PA Development Center, where new process control strategies are trialed, refined, and championed before broader rollout to other PPG facilities. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience or certifications.
  • 5+ years' experience working in an industrial manufacturing or chemical process environment.
  • Experience with Rockwell software including Allen-Bradley PLC programming in an industrial environment.
  • Experience reading and interpreting P&ID's and electrical drawings.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with GE Proficy iFix SCADA, HMI, and historian software is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and troubleshoot the process control systems at the Springdale Development Center, working across all teams to support smooth operations and improve reactor up-time and safety.
  • Initiate and advance continuous improvement projects on electrical and control systems.
  • Support production and maintenance departments in electrical and controls related projects.
  • Work with other engineering disciplines to provide electrical, instrumentation, and automation support.
  • Lead projects on installation and startup of instrumentation and automation projects, including capital projects.
  • Manage projects' functional, budgetary, and timeline requirements.
  • Collaborate with global engineering teams to advance new process control technologies and tools.
  • Lead teams in implementing these tools.
  • Develop and modify project and special process documentation, including technical writing of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), operations manuals, and training documentation.
