About The Position

We are looking for someone who is highly knowledgeable and passionate about privacy, great with people, and ready to dive into a fast-paced, data-driven environment. This senior position supports the Privacy Lead as a key member of the Privacy Team. The role's primary objective is to enhance Endeavour's privacy compliance and help implement a comprehensive privacy framework across the organisation. The role is hybrid - based in either Melbourne or Sydney. Your core responsibilities will include providing expert privacy advice, conducting complex privacy impact assessments, developing and maintaining policies, standards and guidelines, and assisting in the management of privacy incidents and regulatory notifications as well as delivering privacy training and education to the business. You’ll also collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Legal, Cyber, Compliance, Technology and Data Governance as well as various Business Units and functions, to strengthen the company's privacy culture, contribute to the development and delivery of privacy training programs and participate in strategic initiatives related to data privacy, including the responsible use of data and AI. Requirements

  • Experienced professional with deep knowledge of privacy law.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven experience of managing a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to apply a commercial mindset.
  • Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced business environment.
  • Self-starter who thrives on responsibility and autonomy.
  • 4-5+ years of legal experience, preferably in privacy/technology/commercial law or in a privacy regulatory/compliance role.
  • Legal qualifications and solid legal experience are essential.
  • In-depth knowledge of Australian data privacy laws and regulations and experience in their practical application in a business context.
  • Proven ability to conduct complex privacy impact assessments, provide privacy advice and manage privacy incidents, complaints, data access requests and notifiable data breaches.
  • Experience in designing and delivering privacy training and education sessions.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously, in a fast-paced environment, manage a host of matters and deliver timely and commercial, risk-based, advice.
  • Experience in stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Familiarity with privacy frameworks and data governance principles.
  • A keen interest in privacy, data, AI, and emerging technologies.
  • Ability to work as part of a close-knit team, collaborate and share knowledge and support with more junior team members.
