About The Position

The Senior Privacy Analyst will support Western Union's Global Privacy Program and work closely with Legal, Compliance, Security, Technology, Product, AI Governance, and business stakeholders across multiple regions. This role is responsible for conducting privacy risk assessments, processing individual rights requests, investigating privacy incidents and data protection matters, supporting regulatory inquiries and compliance activities, maintaining privacy documentation, and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to promote adherence to global privacy and data protection requirements. The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of privacy laws and privacy-by-design principles, excellent communication and legal drafting skills, and the ability to manage multiple complexes matters simultaneously in a fast-paced global environment. This position requires collaboration across diverse time zones and engagement with stakeholders at all organizational levels.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Law, Legal Studies, Business, Compliance, Information Management, Information Security, Public Policy, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
3+ years of experience in privacy, data protection, legal operations, risk management, or related disciplines.
Strong understanding of privacy principles and data protection frameworks (GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, other emerging U.S. state privacy laws)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong legal and policy drafting skills.
Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving capabilities.
Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and urgent matters simultaneously.
Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a global environment spanning multiple time zones.

Nice To Haves

Relevant privacy certifications (e.g., CIPP, CIPM, CIPT) and paralegal qualifications will be considered favorably.
Paralegal Certification, or equivalent legal background.
Familiarity with: EU AI Act NIST AI Risk Management Framework AI governance and Responsible AI principles
Experience within financial services, payments, fintech, banking, or other highly regulated industries.
Experience working with regulators, supervisory authorities, auditors, and external counsel.
Experience supporting enterprise privacy awareness and training programs.

Responsibilities

Process and manage Individual Rights Requests, including access, deletion, correction, portability, restriction, and objection requests, while maintaining associated privacy management tools and case tracking systems.
Investigate privacy incidents and data protection matters documenting findings and coordinating required follow-up activities.
Conduct Privacy Risk Assessments (PRAs), Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), and other privacy risk evaluations.
Support regulatory inquiries, audits, examinations, complaints, and other privacy compliance activities.
Maintain privacy documentation, including records of processing activities, data inventories, data maps, retention records, and assessment repositories.
Draft, review, and maintain governance documentation.
Research emerging privacy, AI, data governance, and regulatory developments to support program enhancements.
Assist with privacy awareness initiatives, training programs, and employee education activities.
