About The Position

This role is for a Senior Print Production Artist who is an expert in print production with a passion for crafting pixel-perfect designs to the highest standards, and who revels in the delight of combining specialty finishing treatments to create next-level foil cards. The artist will use their attention to detail and passion for outstanding creative production to supercharge Magic: The Gathering, ensuring that every card we build looks its best in the hands of our fans. This role bridges design and execution by crafting print-ready files, optimizing for downstream use, and ensuring quality. This is an on-site role at our office in Renton WA, requiring presence at the office from Monday to Thursday.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of professional experience in creative production, pre-press, or print design, with demonstrated leadership in high-volume environments
  • Expert-level proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
  • Deep understanding of print production requirements including color spaces, ink limits, specialty finishes, and vendor communication
  • Strong typographic and layout skills
  • Consistent track record to lead projects independently, handle competing priorities, and deliver on tight timelines
  • Experience guiding others through complex production challenges with clarity, patience, and attention to detail
  • A strategic approach with the ability to balance creative intent and technical execution

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Magic: The Gathering
  • Experience working in gaming, entertainment, or fantasy-adjacent creative industries

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Art Directors and Graphic Designers to take their initial concepts and translate them into technically sound, production-ready assets
  • Document complex design file specifications for use across internal and external production teams
  • Review downstream production work to ensure visual fidelity and adherence to project goals
  • Actively involved in encouraging a culture of excellence and precision using established standard methodologies
  • Anticipate and proactively resolve production challenges in partnership with creative and technical teams
  • Partner with Print Operations to validate that files meet stringent production specs, including color calibration, plate separation, and finishing techniques
  • Contribute to the evolution of workflow and asset management systems to improve speed, accuracy, and scalability of production
