About The Position

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Senior Principal Training Engineer to support the Navy Fleet Engagement activities as part of a larger program team. This position is located at Pearl Harbor, HI and requires an active TSSCI security clearance. This person will serve as a key liaison between Fleet users, government stakeholders, subcontractors, and RTX personnel to support operational integration, user feedback, and customer engagement efforts associated with the Navy program. Responsibilities may include assisting with the collection and coordination of Fleet user feedback across government and RTX teams; supporting operator training and troubleshooting efforts related to system employment and trouble ticket submission; and providing command and control subject matter expertise during training events, exercises, and operational demonstrations. The candidate will support briefings to Navy personnel regarding system status, capabilities, and future roadmap initiatives, while also assisting with the coordination and execution of customer engagements, site visits, and program-related events. This role requires strong communication skills, operational credibility, and the ability to work effectively across engineering, program management, and Fleet stakeholder communities. This is a new program to integrate and deploy a battle management capability for the Navy’s long range fires mission, centered on integrating moderate-to-high TRL software applications into on-prem hardware stacks and cloud environments. The systems will ultimately deploy to Navy sites for customer-led test and evaluation. This program uses modern engineering methods including MBSE, DevSecOps and Agile Scrum at Scale.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of command-and-control experience
  • Domain knowledge of US Navy Combat Systems
  • Experience working Long Range Kill Chain requirements and architectures
  • Experience in developing training plans and curriculum
  • Experience training operators in various environments in how to use software and systems
  • Experience working with DoD and non-DoD entities to validate and create Tactics, Techniques and Procedures
  • Experience in training mission execution within published doctrine and standardized Tactics, Techniques and Procedures
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued TSSCI is required prior to start date
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Responsibilities

  • Support Fleet Engagement Leads and program personnel as a point of contact for weapon system activities at assigned Fleet locations.
  • Assist with in person operator training and system familiarization events for Navy personnel.
  • Support demonstrations of system capabilities during customer engagements, training events, and operational discussions.
  • Assist Naval operators and senior program personnel in the development of CONOPS and CONEMPs, as well as evaluation efforts related to future system enhancements and operational utility.
  • Participate in Fleet Engagement activities through the collection, organization, and coordination of user feedback for engineering and program teams.
  • Support test and training engineers with the development of representative data sets, operational scenarios, and training environments that reflect real world mission execution.
  • Engage with Navy customers, program offices, and operational stakeholders during Technical Interchange Meetings and related support activities.
  • Assist users with trouble ticket submission and issue tracking while coordinating with engineering and support teams to provide status updates and resolution follow through.
  • Contribute to software integration, system test, and training activities as part of a collaborative engineering and Fleet support team operating within an Agile development environment.
  • Support training events, testing activities, Fleet engagements, customer visits, and demonstrations requiring occasional local and CONUS travel.
  • Travel for customer meetings and events at least twice monthly.
