About The Position

This position is part of BAE Systems' September 2026 Defense Electronics Engineering Hiring Event, focusing on selection-based interviews for candidates matching specific hiring needs. The role involves developing, building, and working on advanced electromagnetic spectrum operations systems for detecting, locating, and countering threats. As a Systems Engineer, you will be a member of a cross-functional, multi-disciplinary team focused on modeling, designing, developing, integrating, debugging, testing, fielding, and supporting innovative Electronic Systems. Due to the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and the nature of the role, it will be performed full-time on site at a BAE Systems facility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or Computer Science or related
  • 2-20+ years of relevant Systems Engineering experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s of Science degree in electrical engineering or computer science/engineering
  • Experience with Electronic Warfare systems and/or complex electromechanical products
  • Experience with systems engineering activities across the product development lifecycle (analysis/decomposition/derivation/allocation of requirements, architecture, system modeling & simulation, system design & development, system integration & test, production, sustainment)

Responsibilities

  • Creation and/or review of systems, software, component, subsystem requirements and operational concepts
  • Deriving, decomposing, allocation and traceability of requirements to engineering discipline
  • Identification of Risks and Opportunities and executing on mitigation strategies
  • Identification of System Technical Performance Measures
  • Participation in trade studies, analysis, peer reviews, and customer meetings
  • Support system modeling & simulation, design, and development activities
  • Creation of external and internal interface definition
  • Knowledge of model based systems engineering tools and approach
  • Presentation of findings at design reviews internally or with customers
  • Creation of test plans, test procedures and reports
  • Creation and/or review of algorithms
  • Analysis of data to inform decision making
  • Execution of integration, verification, and validation activities and tests
  • Participate in external field and flight tests of our EW Systems
  • Participate in constant improvement of the System Engineering discipline
