About The Position
This position is part of BAE Systems' September 2026 Defense Electronics Engineering Hiring Event, focusing on selection-based interviews for candidates matching specific hiring needs. The role involves developing, building, and working on advanced electromagnetic spectrum operations systems for detecting, locating, and countering threats. The company develops sophisticated digital Electronic Warfare (EW) systems and seeks motivated engineers for cross-functional, multidisciplinary teams. Key objectives include enhancing air vehicle survivability by detecting, denying, deceiving, degrading, and disrupting adversaries' Integrated Air Defenses. As a Systems Engineer, you will be a member of a cross-functional, multi-disciplinary team focused on modeling, designing, developing, integrating, debugging, testing, fielding, and supporting innovative Electronic Systems. Due to the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and the nature of the role, it will be performed full-time on site at a BAE Systems facility.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or Computer Science or related
- 2-20+ years of relevant Systems Engineering experience.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s or Master’s of Science degree in electrical engineering or computer science/engineering
- Experience with Electronic Warfare systems and/or complex electromechanical products
- Experience with systems engineering activities across the product development lifecycle (analysis/decomposition/derivation/allocation of requirements, architecture, system modeling & simulation, system design & development, system integration & test, production, sustainment)
Responsibilities
- Creation and/or review of systems, software, component, subsystem requirements and operational concepts
- Deriving, decomposing, allocation and traceability of requirements to engineering discipline
- Identification of Risks and Opportunities and executing on mitigation strategies
- Identification of System Technical Performance Measures
- Participation in trade studies, analysis, peer reviews, and customer meetings
- Support system modeling & simulation, design, and development activities
- Creation of external and internal interface definition
- Knowledge of model based systems engineering tools and approach
- Presentation of findings at design reviews internally or with customers
- Creation of test plans, test procedures and reports
- Creation and/or review of algorithms
- Analysis of data to inform decision making
- Execution of integration, verification, and validation activities and tests
- Participate in external field and flight tests of our EW Systems
- Participate in constant improvement of the System Engineering discipline
