Systems Engineer Chief

SAICEl Segundo, CA

About The Position

SAIC is looking for a Senior Principal Systems Engineer to perform a variety of engineering work in the development of an operable system capable of meeting requirements within imposed constraints including mass, cost, and schedule. This role involves designing and researching subsystem interfaces to ensure seamless integration of subsystems into a viable complete system. The engineer will perform functional analysis of systems to ensure they meet performance criteria and mission constraints, feeding analysis results back to development teams. Responsibilities include formulating, recommending, and directing operations and procedures to resolve engineering and technical problems related to operations, staffing, and equipment utilization. The role provides technical assistance and instruction for design problems and resolution of construction or operating difficulties. Special studies and investigations related to project activities will be conducted to recommend changes for efficiency, cost reduction, and meeting new requirements. Analysis of project requirements will inform operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, designing, and modifying equipment. The position involves planning and coordinating the work of other engineers and technical personnel, with assignments subject to minimal review. Training, directing, and assisting other personnel is expected to fulfill assignment objectives. The engineer will serve as an organizational consultant and lead multi-discipline or cross-functional teams. Under broad direction, the role interprets, organizes, executes, and coordinates assignments, applying advanced theories, concepts, principles, and processes to an assigned area. The job role contributes directly to value creation and may supervise lower-level engineers. All other duties as assigned.
