About The Position

The Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SETC) organization is looking to hire a Senior Principal Systems Engineer to serve as the SM-2 Lead Systems (LSE). The SM-2 production program has several multi-year contracts with both FMS and Domestic customers. The LSE is responsible for technical guidance and mentorship of multi-disciplined engineering teams. The LSE is also one of the senior technical interfaces with internal and external customers, industry partners, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders. The SM-2 LSE is responsible for supporting the Chief Engineer (CE) in helping define and maintain the appropriate level of technical rigor and coordination across functions and engineering disciplines across the various production and sustainment efforts within the program. The candidate will also need prior multidiscipline engineering knowledge and experience, as well as production experience. The LSE is expected to mentor engineers both technically and with their career. The primary focus of the LSE will be supporting current Production and Sustainment contracts, as SM-2 has several multi-discipline efforts, including missile performance assessments, flight test and flight failure investigations, and factory test requirements investigations and optimization projects. The LSE is expected to also lead a small technical team of Systems Engineers and to collaborate with CEs, Production Managers, and engineering leadership for any current and upcoming technical projects on multiple All Up Round (AUR) configurations.
