About The Position

Marvell is seeking a Senior Principal Engineer to join the Optics & Connectivity Product Architecture team. This team is responsible for developing architectural solutions to strategic technical problems and addressing critical customer requirements. In this role, the engineer will serve as a conduit between architectural innovations and practical implementations. This includes periodically embedding into product design teams to help turn architectural specifications into actual product features, while feeding in-the-trench intelligence back to ensure that innovation efforts remain down-to-earth. The successful candidate will be comfortable creating highly-functional software prototypes based on high-level architectural specifications and merging their design into product codebases without disrupting existing operation. They will also provide documentation and facilitate knowledge transfer for further enhancement and maintenance of their design by the implementation team. This role offers exposure to novel ideas, new features, and integration into a variety of interesting products, accumulating wide-ranging knowledge and propagating best practices to many design teams.

Requirements

  • Postgraduate degree in EECS or related technical field(s).
  • 10+ years of experience in embedded design within the wired/optical communications industry.
  • Insight into Protocol/Software/Hardware/Human interactions.
  • Technical Leadership experience in Optical PHY products with exposure to Customer Support.
  • Strong firmware engineering background, with working knowledge in digital design; OR vice-versa.
  • Robust Communications Skills in Listening & Teaching.
  • Eligible to access export-controlled information as defined under applicable law.
