This role involves designing, developing, and testing applications to simulate the behavior of avionics sensors to support the development and testing of Collins Avionics products. The engineer will aid the development team in debugging laboratory issues, determining root causes, and proposing solutions. They will interact with teammates, management, and customers, and support Program Leads with budget and schedule data for the CSE work on a given program. The role also involves working with a team to shape the future of the avionics simulation platform. 5-10% travel is expected.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience.
  • Experience with C/C++ programming languages.
  • Experience with Python scripting.
  • Experience with Agile Development Framework (Scrum, Sprints, etc.).
  • This job requires a U.S. Person.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience with Graphical User Interface (GUI) design/implementation.
  • Experience with C# programming language.
  • Familiarity with migrating an application between OS and HW architectures.
  • Earned Value Management experience.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and test applications to simulate the behavior of avionics sensors to support the development and testing of Collins Avionics products.
  • Aid the development team in the debugging of laboratory issues to determine root cause and propose potential solutions to the discovered problems.
  • Effectively interacts and networks with teammates, management, and customers.
  • Support the Program Lead(s) with budget and schedule data for the CSE work on a given program to help ensure the successful completion of a Collins Avionics program.
  • Work with a team of dedicated engineers to help shape the future of the avionics simulation platform.
