Under broad direction, the Senior Principal Risk Management Analyst works with stakeholders across multiple functions to establish a risk-based modeling approach for enterprise top risks using Xcel Energy’s risk framework and criteria. The role gathers internal and external risk and contextual information; conducts probabilistic modeling of hazard-based risks and uncertainties in operations, planning, modeling, and decision-making; and engages stakeholders to align on scope, inputs, assumptions, results, and recommendations. The analyst develops models, metrics, and methodologies to quantify risk and incorporate risk measures into strategic and operational decisions. The role uses tools, studies, systems, and data to analyze hazard-based risks, uncertain assumptions, and uncertainty in achieving business objectives. It also communicates processes, results, and recommendations to inform decisions, resource allocation, mitigation effectiveness, and risk-trend monitoring. Xcel Energy supports a hybrid work model. Many roles are expected to work onsite three days per week (Tuesday–Thursday), though location expectations vary by role, team, and business needs.
