Within Anaplan’s Finance Center of Excellence, the Senior Principal Product Manager – Finance Applications will play a pivotal role in shaping applications for planning, forecasting, and reporting use cases. This role involves overseeing the product lifecycle from concept to delivery, collaborating with Application Solutions Architects and Finance Product Management teams, guiding the Application Builders Team, and ensuring successful adoption by GTM and Professional Services teams. The position also assists in shaping the long-term vision and strategy for the entire suite of Finance Applications. This is an opportunity for an innovative, results-driven product manager with proven application product management expertise, process optimization skills, rigorous attention to detail, and outstanding communication and presentation abilities to drive Anaplan’s Finance solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in the related field or similar positions.
  • Proven experience in product management and application development, with a focus on finance-related software solutions.
  • Strong understanding of financial planning processes, methodologies, and systems with domain expertise in financial planning and analysis (FP&A).
  • Experience building multi-dimensional planning models, ideally on the Anaplan platform.
  • Strong understanding of modern AI concepts, including generative AI, large language models (LLMs), and agentic frameworks.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in an Agile development environment.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate defining and managing the vision, strategy, and roadmap for specific Finance Applications targeting the office of the CFO.
  • Drive the delivery of Finance Applications incorporating the suite of Anaplan platform components (including model and UX building, Application Framework, AI, user management, data integration, reporting, forecasting, etc.) by:
  • Gathering and prioritizing application requirements from internal/external SMEs and customers.
  • Documenting and managing the application design, resourcing, workplan, and critical paths, from approval to delivery; Ensuring adherence to best practices, application building standards, and project timelines.
  • Collaborate with Anaplan QA Teams to develop test plans, automate testing processes, and identify and resolve defects.
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success and impact of Finance Applications.
  • Drive alignment and consensus across Anaplan’s Product Management, Sales, Customer Success, and GTM Enablement Teams.
  • Ensure seamless integration of Finance Applications into Anaplan’s GTM motion by:
  • Supporting the creation of compelling conceptual demos and all supporting content, including training, guides, and playbooks, to empower partners and internal teams.
  • Creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation for Finance Applications, including user guides, release notes, and technical specifications.
  • Work with Anaplan Partners to help define and certify partner-built applications.
  • Mentor other product managers on the team, lead by example, and help to establish best practices for the product management organization.
