About The Position

The Operational Engines Safety & Reliability team within Engineering Product Integrity is seeking a motivated and impactful individual with strong analytical skills to support flight safety related issues that impact operational commercial and military fleets. This System Safety Discipline analyst will lead the fleet in managing all aspects of proactive and reactive safety, responsible for sustaining world class safety and reliability on Commercial and Military Engines. This high energy role offers an opportunity to collaborate with and present results to individuals from multiple levels of P&W through executive leadership. Collaboration with aircraft manufacturers (Boeing, Airbus, Lockheed Martin, Gulfstream) and Military Services and support (USAF, USN, USMC, JPO) is expected. The role involves aiding Safety Leads and Safety managers in issue progression, while working directly with Program Chief Engineers and Engineering Product Integrity (EPI) management to maintain proper priorities. The individual will be a proponent of the Safety Management System (SMS), Safety Issue Management (SIM) process, and safety processes across RTX. Proficiency in flight safety processes, including SIM L3/ESW, SRA ESW, P&W and customer safety guidance (e.g., USAF BP-99-06E safety guidance) is required. Flexibility to support urgent program flight safety concerns is necessary. The role requires proficiency in the explanation of the quantitative safety risk assessment process, including the identification of flight safety hazards. The analyst will work closely with the Commercial and Military Engines Program safety manager, Product Safety Fellow(s), and Operational Engine Safety Risk Discipline Chief to establish consistent approaches in coordination of safety topics and risk analysts. The role provides critical support for Safety Board meetings and aids in meeting preparation as needed, requiring an understanding of the Safety Board process and proficiency in the Safety Board SharePoint tool. Support for partner, customer, and regulator meetings regarding safety topics is also part of the role. Travel is up to 10%.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in STEM
10 years of experience with aircraft turbine engine operation, design, or maintenance or 7 years experience with an Advanced degree
U.S. Citizen - U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

Strong management skills of people and processes, preferably with strong basic analytical background.
Gas Turbine Engine Knowledge or working experience
Familiarity with aspects of the PW Safety processes.
