About The Position

SRC, Inc. is currently seeking an experienced Senior Principal Mission Engineer to support the U.S. Air Force's Big Safari Program Office at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. This position provides Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) supporting the rapid development, integration, test, and fielding of advanced Electromagnetic Battle Management (EMBM) capabilities across airborne Electronic Warfare (EW), Signals Intelligence (SIGINT), ISR, and C4ISR mission systems. The successful candidate will work alongside Government program managers, operational users, engineers, and industry partners to develop mission-focused capabilities that improve decision superiority, electromagnetic spectrum operations, and cross-platform mission integration. This position is ideal for individuals who understand both the operational employment and technical integration of advanced airborne mission systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Operations Research, or a related technical discipline and 15 + years of experience
  • An active Top Secret clearance is required
  • Experience supporting DoD acquisition, mission engineering, systems engineering, or advanced technology development programs
  • Minimum of 7 years supporting classified defense programs
  • Experience supporting Electronic Warfare (EW), Signals Intelligence (SIGINT), ISR, C4ISR, Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations (EMSO), or mission systems integration
  • Understanding of mission engineering principles, mission analysis, digital mission engineering, and systems engineering processes
  • Knowledge of RF systems, radar, communications, electronic attack, electronic protection, mission planning, and Air Force command and control architectures
  • Experience supporting developmental, operational, and flight test activities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience briefing senior Government and military leadership

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting Air Force rapid acquisition organizations, particularly Big Safari
  • Experience with Electromagnetic Battle Management (EMBM), Joint All-Domain Command and Control (JADC2), or Advanced Battle Management System (ABMS) initiatives
  • Familiarity with kill chain and kill web analysis, mission thread development, and mission-level systems integration
  • Experience integrating Open Mission Systems (OMS), MOSA, UCI, and other open architecture standards across multiple airborne platforms
  • Previous experience supporting flight test, operational experimentation, or rapid capability fielding
  • Military operational experience in Electronic Warfare, Intelligence, ISR, or airborne mission operations is highly desirable

Responsibilities

  • Provide mission engineering support across the acquisition lifecycle, including mission analysis, operational concept development, requirements definition, systems integration, verification, validation, and test
  • Advise Government leadership on Electromagnetic Battle Management (EMBM) modernization strategies, mission integration, and technical risk reduction
  • Develop and evaluate operational concepts, mission threads, and concepts of employment (CONOPS) supporting EMBM capabilities
  • Develop and refine EMBM requirements, technical specifications, Interface Control Documents (ICDs), and other engineering documentation
  • Review contractor engineering products, mission architecture, and technical approaches to ensure compliance with Government requirements
  • Support implementation of Open Mission Systems (OMS), Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA), Agile Mission Suite Government Reference Architecture (AMS GRA), and Universal Command and Control Interface (UCI) standards
  • Support integration of multi-domain mission systems enabling electromagnetic spectrum awareness, sensor fusion, mission planning, and command and control
  • Participate in laboratory integration, developmental testing, operational testing, and flight test activities, including Ground Test Director duties as required
  • Assess mission effectiveness, identify capability gaps, evaluate technical risks, and recommend operational and engineering improvements
  • Prepare technical assessments, engineering reports, and executive briefings for senior Government leadership.
  • Collaborate with Government organizations, operational users, industry partners, and system developers to rapidly transition new capabilities into operational use
