Raytheon is seeking a Systems Engineering Integration and Test (SEIT) Cross Product Team (CPT) Lead for the Javelin Weapon System. Currently, the program involves a mix of missile and launcher development as well as production activities. As the lead, your leadership will have a pivotal impact on the program during a critical phase of its execution, and your decisions will help shape its path forward. This is an onsite position based in Tucson, AZ. The selected candidate will be assigned to the Land and Air Defense Systems Strategic Business Unit.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience leading system qualifications, including prioritizing and tracking requirements verification activities.
  • Experience completing Earned Value Management tasks and reporting, including monthly LRE/EAC and variance analyses.
  • Experience in performing Risk & Opportunity management.
  • Experience completing Systems Engineering contributions to proposals, such as developing BOEs and conducting their review.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency with DOORS for requirements allocation, traceability, and management.
  • Experience with verification of sensors, rocket motors, initiation devices (ISD, ESAF), and missile systems.
  • Ability to organize and conduct technical and programmatic reviews with internal and external customers.
  • Experience in generating and maintaining technical documentation, such as specifications, Interface Control Documents (ICDs), Test Requirement Documents (TRDs), and Verification Cross Reference Matrices.
  • Ability to conduct trade studies and analyses and guide their influence on system architectural decisions.
  • Experience collaborating with personnel from various disciplines, such as REAs, Quality, and Reliability, in a production environment.
  • Prior experience determining staffing needs in collaboration with program and functional leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve Raytheon’s Program Manager Certification within six (6) months of hire.
  • Lead the Javelin SEIT team to make technical decisions, manage risks, and drive product verification.
  • Drive integration across other IPTs/CPTs to ensure successful system design and integration.
  • Define, prioritize, and communicate tasks to the SEIT team of at least thirteen members.
  • Ensure alignment with program objectives, technical requirements, cost, and schedule constraints.
  • Responsible for Control Account Management (CAM), Estimate at Complete (EAC) inputs, and perform Earned Value analysis for the team’s scope.
  • Serve as the primary technical interface with top-level program and customer organizations for the planning and execution of proposals, new starts, lateral product applications, and major Engineering Change Proposals.
  • Act as the primary technical authority and point of contact for all aspects associated with the system technical data package, including design, development, manufacturing, and failure investigation.
  • Utilize the expertise of Responsible Engineering Authorities (REA) and other engineering teams to make informed decisions, ensure design compliance, and maintain system performance.
  • Resolve technical challenges by delivering high-quality, mission-ready solutions that meet all performance, reliability, and compliance requirements.
  • Support program growth and technology insertion strategies by working closely with the Chief Engineer and Lead Systems Engineer, together with Chief Technologists and Technical Directors as appropriate.
  • Ensure timely review of Basis of Estimates (BOE) for proposal efforts and provide necessary input to the Engineering Proposal Review process, as applicable.
  • Travel up to 10% of the time, as needed, to interface with customers and suppliers.
