Senior Principal Engineer

Authority Partners

About The Position

This is a senior leadership role for someone who operates equally well in the technical, commercial, and human dimensions of consulting. As a Senior Principal at Authority Partners, you will take full ownership of large, complex client engagements — from solution design through delivery — while leading and developing the people who execute them. The role sits at the intersection of three core responsibilities: winning work, delivering it with excellence, and building the kind of teams that make both possible. If you are energized by that combination and have the experience to back it, we'd like to hear from you!

Requirements

  • Executive-level communication skills — you shape narratives that influence direction and adapt your approach to audience and context
  • A systematic approach to complex problem-solving, with the ability to guide others through structured reasoning at scale
  • Confidence in negotiation and stakeholder alignment, including under ambiguity and competing priorities
  • A leadership philosophy grounded in developing people, not just directing them
  • The ability to normalize candid feedback and productive conflict within your teams
  • A track record of acting with foresight — identifying what needs to change before it becomes urgent

Responsibilities

  • Build and sustain high-performing teams — establishing the conditions for excellence and providing your people with the direction, feedback, and development they need to grow
  • Own the full people lifecycle for your direct reports: hiring, onboarding, performance management, career development, and difficult conversations when they are needed
  • Identify high-potential talent, advocate for your people in staffing decisions, and champion their visibility across the organization
  • Lead succession planning for key leadership roles and actively develop the next generation of people leaders
  • Monitor team engagement and surface retention risks early, before they escalate
  • Lead technical execution across multiple Authority Partners capability areas, ensuring cohesion, quality, and accountability across multi-disciplinary teams
  • Own the delivery strategy for large, complex programs — from kickoff through close
  • Manage executive-level stakeholder relationships with confidence, including difficult conversations around scope, schedule, and budget
  • Anticipate delivery risks and drive decisive action when course correction is needed
  • Lead solution development for large deals, from initial discovery through signed agreement
  • Define the technical and functional approach: requirements, assumptions, risks, and a delivery model that is both credible and commercially viable
  • Build cost models and staffing plans — specifying team composition, proficiency levels, phasing, and milestones
  • Own the sales-to-delivery transition, ensuring alignment and clarity carry through from pursuit to execution

Benefits

  • Real ownership. You'll lead initiatives end-to-end — shaping the solution, delivering it, and holding the accountability that comes with both.
  • A people-first culture. We believe the best consulting outcomes come from genuinely supported people, and we build our organization around that principle.
  • Complex, meaningful work. Large, multi-capability engagements where your expertise makes a material difference to clients.
  • Breadth without dilution. You'll apply deep expertise across delivery, solutioning, and people leadership — never reduced to just one dimension.
  • Work with top-tier professionals in a globally distributed environment.
  • Competitive remuneration – we recognize and reward excellence.
  • Career advancement and personalized growth paths.
  • Access to mentorship, training, and professional development programs.
  • Collaborative, open, and learning-focused culture.
