Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 12+ years of experience in electronics design involving analog, power, audio, or embedded systems.
- Strong knowledge of discrete electronic components and component-level circuit design.
- Experience with electronic CAD tools, including schematic capture and circuit simulation.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a global, cross-functional team environment.
- Experience transitioning products from development into manufacturing.
- 12+ years of relevant engineering experience.
- Demonstrated technical leadership experience, including mentoring or leading engineering teams.
- Strong engineering and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Exceptional organizational and project management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with power supply design, microprocessors, and embedded systems.
- Experience with small-signal analog circuit design.
Responsibilities
- Designing analog and digital electronic hardware for new fire alarm products while also supporting existing product lines.
- Researching and evaluating emerging technologies for potential use in future product development.
- Design and analyze analog and digital electronics, including embedded systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conceive, develop, and release new products into production.
- Assume overall technical project leadership for hardware product development, ensuring compliance with product specifications, schedules, cost targets, and performance requirements.
- Work in a collaborative team environment to develop innovative solutions that meet product needs.
- Lead cross-functional teams of engineers, primarily electrical and mechanical, with responsibility for project cost, schedule, and design execution.
- Operate effectively at both the component and system levels, including hardware design, software integration, packaging, and system architecture.
- Identify opportunities to improve internal processes and engineering procedures.
- Partner closely with Product Management to define and refine product requirements.
- Design products to meet applicable regulatory and agency certifications, including UL, ULC, CE, and FCC standards.
