The Controls and Avionics Solutions (CAS) business is experiencing unprecedented growth. Our two design centers in Endicott, New York and Austin, Texas are the home for our next generation technical solutions. Engineers will develop flight and mission-critical products for commercial and military customers. You will have the opportunity to help design and develop the next generation: Fly-By-Wire Flight Controls, Aircraft Engine Controls, Ground Vehicle Power Management Systems, Aircraft Electrification Systems, Advanced Air Mobility Systems, Autonomous Flight Systems, Flight Deck Systems, Cabin Management Systems, Weapon Control Systems, and Mission Systems for the world's most prominent aircraft and vehicle manufacturers. When you become a member of our team, you will work across multiple disciplines and collaborate with Systems, Hardware, Software, Test, and Operations during all phases of the product development and production support lifecycles. These roles involve a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work and will take the form of a hybrid work schedule, with time split between working onsite and remotely. Join our team of Analog Circuit Design Engineers who are tasked with the architecture, design, test, and verification of high-reliability analog circuitry. In this position you will support the development and product support of advanced avionics, for both military and commercial aircraft, including engine control computers, flight control systems, aircraft propulsion systems, cabin and cockpit electronics. As a Senior Principal Analog Circuit Design Engineer you will make impacts in the following ways:

Requirements

  • BS in Electrical Engineering with 10 or more years of industry experience designing and testing analog circuitry
  • Highly Proficient with mixed-signal ADC and DACs, analog signal conditioning, passive & active filters, operational amplifiers circuits, multiplexers, motor drives, and demodulators.
  • Highly Proficient with lab equipment for hardware troubleshooting and debug
  • Highly Proficient with design analysis tools such as LTSpice, PSpice, Matlab and MathCad.
  • Experience with analog and digital loop closure, specifically in actuation control systems
  • Experience performing component level circuit stress and derating analysis
  • Experience in circuit tolerance analysis considering end of life and environmental limits
  • Experience in designing for EMI/EMC and Lightning Protection
  • Experience with PWB design, component layout and trace routing
  • Experience with digital communication and power electronics
  • Familiar with circuit card assembly (CCA) design for manufacturing techniques/limitations
  • Familiar with mitigating fault propagation and failure mode effect analysis (FMEA)

Nice To Haves

  • MS/MEng in Electrical Engineering with 15 or more years of aerospace industry experience designing and testing analog circuitry
  • Experience with mentoring and leading a team of circuit designers on complex high reliability electronics for aerospace
  • Experience in designing for and testing to MIL-STD-461 and DO-160 standards
  • Experience with Siemens Xpedition® EDM (engineering data management) tool suite
  • Experience with mitigating fault propagation and failure mode effect analysis (FMEA)
  • Experience in writing technical requirement specifications for avionic hardware
  • Some experience with RF Circuit Design
  • Some experience with digital signal processing (DSP)
  • Some experience with firmware and/or software development of FPGAs, DSPs or microprocessors.
  • Some experience with DO-254 DAL A hardware design
  • Some experience in Model Based Engineering

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, analysis and verification of complex analog-to-digital converted interfaces such as RTDs, thermocouples, strain gauges, VDTs, synchros, resolvers and various voltage and current monitors.
  • Lead the design, analysis and verification of complex digital-to-analog converted interfaces such as solenoid and relay drivers, torque motor drivers, stepper motor drivers, voltage and current sources.
  • Collaborate with EMI/EMC Engineers and Systems Engineers to design robust and reliable analog electronics
  • Support aftermarket by leading troubleshoot and root cause corrective actions for field returns, production test failures, and product improvements.
  • Architect next generation designs, mentor and lead teams of Jr. and Sr. level circuit designers, and perform to program schedule and cost expectations.
  • Conduct research and development that improves processing capability, signal integrity, reliability while reducing size, weight, area, power and cost (SWAP-C)
  • Leverage and reuse existing designs within the CAS portfolio to reduce risk, schedule and cost of new development
  • Lead the collaboration between other functional areas such as electronic packaging, firmware, systems engineering, test equipment and operations.
