The Sentinel Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Program will completely replace the aging Minuteman III (MMIII) ICBM, an undertaking not performed in over 50 years. This program is considered a “mega-project” and one of the most complex in the history of the Department of Defense. The new ICBM weapon system acquisition effort brings with it the newest digital engineering tools and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) practices to meet existing warfighter requirements, while having the adaptability and flexibility to affordably address changing technology and threat environments through 2075. As part of the U.S. Air Force's Integration Support Contract (ISC), BAE Systems provides advisory and assistance services in the areas of engineering, logistics, management, scientific analysis, and other subject matter expertise to augment and optimize management of the Sentinel ICBM Prime Contractor. BAE is looking for an experienced Aerospace Engineer to support Sentinel’s Guidance Branch within the Flight Systems IPT in developing the Sentinel guidance computer systems. This engineer will assist in acquiring, testing, and integrating guidance equipment for the Sentinel weapon system, collaborating with the government customer and Sentinel prime contractor to review and assess design, documentation, and architecture. You'll provide advice to Sentinel leaders throughout the acquisition cycle, utilizing MBSE best practices.

Requirements

  • BS or higher degree in Aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, physics, or mathematics.
  • 12 yrs directly related experience (10 yrs with MS degree).
  • At least 6 yrs progressive responsibility in providing technical leadership.

Nice To Haves

  • ICBM guidance, test, training systems, or operations experience.
  • ICBM acquisitions experience.
  • Professional Engineering License.
  • Systems Engineering experience and/or Certification.
  • Project Management Professional Certification.
  • Active DoD Top Secret Clearance.
  • Agile, Earned Value Management, Control Account Management.
  • USAF Nuclear topic education.
  • Engineering/Agile tools: Cameo, MATLAB, DOORS, JIRA, Confluence.
  • Classified government IT systems.
  • Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, Excel, OneNote.

Responsibilities

  • Effective technical interaction between the Air Force customer, the Sentinel prime contractor, subcontractors, and other mission partners.
  • Thorough understanding of the prime contractor’s Guidance Computer design and function.
  • Participate in reviews of technical and programmatic briefings and reports.
  • Support Integration and Test (I&T) activities.
