Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience
  • 10+ years of experience related to physical sciences, mechanical engineering, sensing and signal processing, acoustics, or related discipline.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued secret security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • Fluent in at least one commonly used programming language such as Python, Matlab, C, or C++.
  • Experience forming and leading teams of scientists and engineers through full lifecycle of technology development.

Nice To Haves

  • PhD in physical sciences or engineering.
  • Successful capture of new R&D contracts from US Government customers such as DARPA, ONR, or the US Navy PMOs.
  • Previous experience working within research and development engineering organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Create the vision and secure funding for new concepts.
  • Lead multiple, multi-million-dollar R&D and transition programs.
  • Plan and execute field tests on land or at sea.
  • Regularly meet or exceed the metrics of challenging R&D programs.
  • Handle complex technical challenges while helping researchers focus on the technical work to be achieved, and the big picture of their efforts.
  • Travel to partner, customer and corporate sites.
