About The Position

Auld & White Constructors is seeking an experienced Senior Preconstruction Manager to provide strategic leadership across complex commercial construction projects from concept through turnover to Operations. This role involves leading multiple complex projects through the preconstruction and design phases, overseeing project budgets, estimates, schedules, constructability, value management, and procurement planning. The Senior Preconstruction Manager will work closely with Owners, design teams, trade partners, and internal project teams. This position also offers senior-level technical leadership and mentorship to the preconstruction team, helping identify risks, develop solutions, and ensure successful project execution.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Building Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
7+ years of commercial construction experience, including leading preconstruction efforts on complex projects.
Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, estimating, budgeting, scheduling, and constructability.
Experience with design coordination, value management, and procurement planning.
Strong communication, relationship-building, and leadership skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, and construction estimating/project management software.

Responsibilities

Lead preconstruction efforts for large-scale and complex projects from conceptual design through turnover to Operations.
Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to Preconstruction Managers, Estimators, and other team members.
Support project pursuits through preconstruction strategies, interviews, presentations, proposal development, and other work-acquisition activities.
Develop and manage project budgets and estimates while identifying cost trends, risks, scope gaps, and potential exposures.
Lead preconstruction meetings, design-phase coordination, and presentations with Owners, design teams, and executive leadership.
Perform constructability reviews and develop value management recommendations to improve project efficiency and execution.
Develop and maintain project schedules during the design phase, including design milestones, permitting, procurement, and construction activities.
Develop subcontractor and supplier procurement strategies, engage key trade partners during design, and evaluate proposals for scope completeness, market coverage, and pricing.
Lead the preconstruction-to-operations turnover process and contribute to the continuous improvement of preconstruction processes and best practices.
