About The Position

The Senior Director of Pre-Construction is responsible for supporting estimating and pre-construction services across multiple subregions, with the capabilities and personality to develop new business opportunities with both new and existing customers, as guided by the Regional VP of Operations. Requirements

  • Knowledge of construction technology, scheduling, equipment, and methods
  • Excellent communication skills with owners, architects, and design
  • Thorough understanding of several types of design projects and concepts, including design-build, design-assist, IPD, Lean, and LEED
  • Self-starter
  • Make independent decisions and recommendations that greatly affect the profitability of the assigned area
  • Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Prioritize and manage multiple tasks, changing priorities as necessary
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude
  • Oral and written communication skills as required for the position
  • Self-motivated and can work independently and as part of a team
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or other related discipline
  • Minimum 17 years of experience in the construction industry, electrical contractor
  • Can be a combination of education, training, and relevant experience

Responsibilities

  • Implementing strategies to drive growth, improve efficiency, maximize overall performance, and foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
  • Overseeing the successful execution of projects, ensuring timely delivery, resource allocation, and effective coordination among team members.
  • Understanding the company’s philosophy and systems.
  • Understanding objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within the boundaries of corporate policies.
  • Maintaining liaison with prime clients and A/E to facilitate construction activities.
  • Building and nurturing relationships with internal and external stakeholders, fostering collaboration, and representing the organization at various meetings.
  • Supervising the preparation of all pricing quotations for presentation to the prime customer.
  • Managing financial aspects of contracts to protect the company’s interests and maintain good relationships with the client.
  • Providing management, direction, and guidance to multiple subregions for estimating and preconstruction services.
  • Maintaining a historical database of estimates for metric analysis, ensuring continuous improvement and refinement.
  • Performing conceptual estimates and having a deep understanding of design/build projects.
  • Assuming additional responsibilities as directed by corporate executives.
