Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or business administration.
  • At least 7 to 10 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in the development and/or construction of wind and solar projects in the United States and/or Canada.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Knowledge of renewable energy project development.
  • A service-oriented attitude and willingness to work within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team; initiative and dynamism.
  • Proficiency in the MS Office suite (particularly Microsoft Project, Visio, and Excel).

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for planning, organizing, and coordinating work related to construction and engineering activities for complex projects at various stages of development.
  • Develop construction and operating cost estimates in collaboration with various cross-functional teams (drawing on data provided by engineering departments, construction project managers, the commercial and major contracts team, and the operations team).
  • Evaluate estimates for projects based on their stage of advancement and provide advice to commercial and major contracts teams.
  • Establish and maintain a pre-work risk register and include adequate contingency margins in estimates.
  • Implement project governance mechanisms, such as cost control tools, schedule, risk matrix, and project execution plan.
  • Actively participate in industry networking activities to keep the company informed of any government programs or incentives, as well as any foreseeable industry trends.
  • Plan and coordinate transfer activities between development and construction phases, as well as between construction and operation phases.
  • In close collaboration with the major contracts team, evaluate and implement the construction strategy specific to each project and site.
  • Participate in project portfolio acquisition processes and coordinate construction-related due diligence activities.
  • Ensure effective coordination and information exchange within the multidisciplinary project team, primarily between the development, construction, engineering, and operations departments.
