About The Position

Langan is seeking a Senior Practice Leader - Civil Engineering to join its collaborative team in Sacramento, CA. This individual will serve a key function in leading and supporting business development, engineering design, and related permitting efforts for a variety of multidisciplinary land development projects. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work top industry leadership in a continuous learning environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required
  • Possess a valid Professional Engineer license in California
  • 16+ years of successful, local and related site / civil engineering experience with a concentration in land development on both small and large projects
  • Proven success in client development, client management, and project delivery abilities
  • Active participation in professional organizations
  • Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment, and to mentor project and staff engineers
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, permitting, and execution of residential, institutional, commercial centers, warehouse distribution centers, and mixed-use projects for both public and private clients
  • Collaborate with office and regional leadership to develop strategic growth plans and optimize staff utilization
  • Demonstrate an entrepreneurial mindset by actively contributing to business development efforts - cultivating new client relationships for the firm and strengthening partnerships with existing clients
  • Oversee site/civil engineering efforts from concept through completion, including site layout, grading, drainage, infrastructure, erosion, and sediment control
  • Provide technical leadership and oversight in stormwater management, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, SWPPP preparation
  • Contribute to technical and proposal writing with strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and sound judgment
  • Apply integrated knowledge of land development engineering, including coordination with geotechnical and environmental disciplines
  • Perform other duties as requested
